What was the word on whether Xbox players who downloaded RTO during it's accidental release needing to re-download? Do we need to delete it and re-download? Or is the version we have the correct one?

Yipee, the 1000s of threads every day about RtO can stop now.
But probably wont.
No, they'll just convert to complaining about content instead of availability. OMG! I'm psychic!
You're probably right. People always gotta complain about something.

I'd love to give a date. But the testing and release process aren't set up to do that. When it passes testing, we're launching it asap. The best indicator we can give is very very soon. Obviously, we're hoping the stars align and we get it out on the front end of soon.
And I get that communication has been iffy for a while now. That's part of why I was brought on, to help sort through it. It's not an overnight process, though. There's history and traditional processes at work, and a lot of layers of complexity to find the right places to go to keep you updated. But the team is committed to seeing that through, and helping achieve that, even if it hurts a little bit getting there.
Don't expect us to get perfect overnight, but you can be sure that we want to keep improving. I'll consider it a big win when we get to the point that these updates are consistent, and you all know which day to expect them.
Honestly I think the better question is how does a borked 360 title update affect a PC release? Would absolutely love a straight up answer on that. Though not to look a gift horse in the mouth, thanks Victor, this is pretty much all we were asking for in the first place.

Oh, wonderful.
My favorite thing about RtO coming out is that there will no longer be 5 threads a day on this damn thing.
Wrong, there will be SIX threads a day about this damn thing!!

No perfection required Victor, good honest updates like what you are doing here is all that is needed. It wont apease everyone but well, it's not possible to make everybody happy all the time.
HUGE thumbs-up to you and the rest of the Bioware gang, this has made alot of people's night.

Thanks Bioware...not! There's plenty of us who can't even play the game as is because of how broken it is, much less play an expansion!

I've been wondering this since RtO first started getting delayed. I understand the 360 is having issues, but I fail to see what the hell that has to do with releasing the DLC for PC.

Hi all,
The community update will be a regular feature going forward. I'm hoping to get it on a regular schedule, but this is new process for us all, so the first few may be scattered through the weeks ahead, but we want to make sure you are updated frequently and have a solid source for info, so watch for more of these (as well as other happenings in the Dragon Age universe) in the News forum.
<snip>
Thanks for the update, Victor Wachter. I was glad to see this post in this new sub-forum section. I'm sure this has made a lot of people happy.
For some of us this news is very good while for others it, sadly, is not. Nonetheless, keeping us, the consumers, informed and in the loop is definitely a step in the right direction. As per your post you said the community update will become a regular feature. Please truly keep it going even after the luster has dulled. Community communication is such a vital thing especially when there are problems. No communication results in wild speculation, discord, and much discontent which, in the end, does far far greater harm than good.

I suspect The Powers That Be at Bioware were reluctant to release the RtO DLC for PC so far ahead of the 360 and PS3 releases because they want the users of *ALL* platforms to have a chance to enjoy the novelty of the DLC simultaneously. I play DA:O on the PC, but I can understand how badly it would suck for non-PC users to run into all the "inadvertant" spoilers, half-spoilers and outright, blatant "I-Experienced-This-First!" spoilers that seem to get posted in improper forum channels immediatly after a new release.
It sucks for those of us that can be counted on to keep our own individual pieholes firmly shut, but Bioware has to plan around the Lowest Common Denominator (i.e. 11-year old Jimmy who thinks that everyone wants a blow-by-blow posting in every forum channel about how he skillfully beat RtO in three hours afer gold release on Normal setting)...
