Things mentioned for those who can't watch the video:

  • 2 Squad mates as before, a human blonde and a krogan mentioned
  • All squad mates have jetpacks which come into play in exploration
  • Omnitool has more functionality, for example a combat shield
  • Greater detail in character facial features and models
  • Destructible covers (Yay Frostbite!)
  • Completely different ship (I take it as a step away from the frigate sized ship that we saw in Normandy and towards a larger ship, perhaps the one seen here )
  • Hints at Mako customization
  • 'Pathfinder quarters' section in the ship
  • Main character is referred to as 'the pathfinder'
  • Story revolves around finding a new home for humanity and other races
  • New ship travel system (Instead of the old galaxy map) where you manually fly the ship
  • Enemies (the main opposing force I assume) are bipedal cross between Vorcha and Collectors
  • The (non-human) enemies drop into combat from Cerberus ships (I would assume a placeholder, but if it's not then it gets interesting)
  • One of the antagonists is a human soldier with armor similar to yours but without N7 insignia

(Thanks to DealWithTheC-12 for the writing version)

Some of that stuff was already shown/talked about by BioWare(Mako customization, Krogan, jetpacks) or part of the legit leak(find worlds to settle, Pathfinder), so who knows if it's just asspulls for the rest. What has my attention is the Cerberus thing. It would be an absolute absurdity for Cerberus to even be in Andromeda, but if they were again a massive faction, this time in a whole new galaxy, BioWare would officially go on my "do not buy" list of developers.

This one is certainly not an option, using Ark ship for scout missions is too much even for Bioware level of consistency. I'm not talking about the size part though, according to 90% legitimate leak, they are not using Alliance naming scheme, so possible name doesn't say much in terms of ship's class.

Is any of this actually new? It seems to be virtually all stuff that we either know or is commonly speculated.

Manually flying the ship would be stupid.

there is one thing that bugs me since BW started talking about Frostbite and DAI.

There was even a video showed with some destructible environment in DAI yet I don't really remember seeing this in actual game (don't know, maybe just missed it).

Now we've got talk about destructible covers again. I know it's a work in progress but something tells me that they won't bother.

Mac threw the entire Milky Way on the fire without a second thought, but god forbid they make a Mass Effect game without his beloved Cerberus.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mac Walters is the single worst thing that has ever happened to this franchise.

Focus tests in the middle of development probably use a lot of placeholder assets. Either because the models/textures etc. are not finished/created yet or to prevent spoilers. Bioware has to be aware of all the survey leaks by now.

Most likely another feature cut because of last-gen consoles.

What was interested about this so-called information is the "Cerberus" in Andromeda. That's like.... meh

Yup. If Cerberus is present in Andromeda in any capacity then I don't think I'll be buying. It'll seriously be too much after the massive presence they had in the trilogy.

This is Mac we're talking about here. He's liable to adopt the Halo-esque humanity is a precursor race idea only to say that there was already a Cerberus billions of years ago.

"Buxom blonde female companion?"

No way that's making it into the final game. On the slim chance that it does, methinks it's going to be a lesbian only love interest. The rest of it sounds boring enough to be believable.

Gotta say, collector/vorcha mashups don't strike me as the most creative direction they could have gone for new species.

Though I am on board for the omni-shields.

Hm...

This "reveal" is about 90% known, 5% possible and 5% bullroar.

-Facial flexibility is new. Also, something we have demanded. Also, good thing to have.

-Enemies dropping from cerberus ships is all bullroar. A deliberate and obvious attempt at obfuscation  or it better be.

-A human antagonist plus Cerberus? Again. bullroar or it better be.

-Combat missions from the ship is new. Mention of the balcony and Pathfinder quarters suggests this is the ARK ship.  Makes sense at the beginning of the game.

-Destructable environment is something new. Also, asked.

-Two squad mates? Naw.. a rehash of the E3 trailer.

- Same weapons?  Hm.. same ones from the MP game? = resonable assumption.

Really... no great reveal except to possibly generate new speculations as the Forum is getting stale.

Awesome I hope they bring more of the cool MP stuff into SP.

I'm down with that!

That's been confirmed already.

I thought the N7 guy was not the protagonist?

Theoretically now.

The Elusive Man was a multi billionnaire with connections. It is conceivable that he was fully aware of the ARKON project. Probable was instrumental in it push. Certainly, something he would do. Thus, planting a "seperate crew" is also believable... a crew with his beliefs.

Having said that... I will also be disturbed if Cerberus is in ME:A.

If you're waiting for a Mass Effect game to not have more weird Cerberus bullshit I wouldn't hold your breath. Bioware's gonna be Bioware.

Just go with it, I say. Better for your health. Let's move on to complaining about things that matters, like waifus and stuff.

The only part that really bugged me was the "NPCs call the protagonist 'Pathfinder'" bit. What a mouthful. It sounds so lame, and feels more appropriate to DA than ME. I hope this ends up being false. Just call the protagonist by his/her last name, as in the last trilogy, as people often do in real life.

People are getting worried over the Cerberus drop-ships? Relax, guys. Not going to happen. I'm sure those are just placeholders, if any of this stuff is true at all.

Why is blonde slightly unlikely. There pretty much are 3 core colors of hair with many shades in between. Blonde is one of the core hair colors.

Don't get me wrong bioware despite pretending to be progressive caved to bigotry with femsheps marketing appearance really quickly. Maybe this is a intentional move after some self reflection.

Wouldn't bother me. Hell I could see the ark as primarily a Cerberus plan. Aliens drop out of the ship as they just don't have the man power to waste doing it themselves so they return to a more behind the scenes villain/hero.

I can imagine that BW let Cerberus pop up again. Some sleeper agents on the ship, then some kind of conflict with arguments like "this filthy xeno took your uncle´s/granniy´ s/friend´s spot", "Aliens didn´t help Earth," or dunno "humans paid for the ship, aliens should pay for it with their workforce aka become slaves, instead of a free ride.(doesn´t matter if true or not)"

And BW thinks, uh an enemy from the old MW, people will like that tie in and they love to hate Cerberus or some similar justification.

So then we have some human supremacists setting up colonies, summoning the spirit of the Illusive Man who teaches them to build weapons, ships etc at a rapid pace and voila Cerberus Andromeda.

Nope don´t like the idea one bit, but I can see that happen. I would prefer conflicts between different factions within the ARk be settled differently, but it´s not new that solving  complex problems means shooting people in the ME universe.
