Didn't you get the memo? Even the Saudis are a joke to the new Islamic State. That's a big part of their newsletters.

I have to say, I believe them. Never seen a group of Muslims hold up to their beliefs so well.

I'm a Muslim and I've lived in Saudi Arabia. I don't know why people pretend to know stuff about it while they clearly don't. Anyhow, it's nice for my future knowledge to know how you think..

Oh yeah the good ol' "the muslims I saw = all the muslims".

It's page one, chapter one of the logical fallacies guidebook.

I thought your conclusion was too narrow, so I took the liberty of broadening it.

I'm a Muslim. And I'm offended by what you said. Thank you Bioware.

My apologies.  I was aiming for somewhat tongue-in-cheek but see it didn't work out that way.

As far as the Cerberus drop ship thing. Well, you know how you always fight Elites and Grunts in Halo? They might want a universally known baddie. Remember, a lot of people jumped into the franchise with ME2, and Cerberus was plastered everywhere since.

The difference being that the Convenent was always the main bad guy in Halo, Cerberus was a side enemy faction

Having a universally known baddie in a game that should be distant from the trilogy makes no sense

Mac Walters.

If Cerberus returns as anything resembling a main antagonist, I'll probably still be able to enjoy the rest of the game in spite of the main storyline. I hope, at any rate.

Not really the same thing. In the Halo franchise, all the games have been during the Human-Covenant War and the time directly after the war where some Covenant factions didn't agree with the peace. With the most powerful of those factions now destroyed in Halo 5: Guardians by the Arbiter's faction, the chances are minimal that they will be a main antagonist, particularly since the new primary antagonist is against them as well. If anything, I expect the Covenant species to be allies in the upcoming games. We already see the Sangheili(Elites), Unggoy(Grunts), Kig-Yar(Jackals), and Mgalekgolo(Hunters) as part of the Swords of Sanghelios, which are allies.

Cerberus meanwhile was a servant of the primary antagonists the Reapers. With the Reapers no longer involved and Cerberus all but wiped out, there would be no reason to involve them with the new primary antagonists, particularly because they will be aliens and Cerberus would never willingly work for aliens.

huh.....

soo,  we're going all the way to Andromeda and yet the possible antagonists are human with similar armor as yours; some kind of vorcha/collector mash-up...dropping from cerberus ships? I remember the first trailer had those prothean looking structures rising out of the ground, and people commented about how the creatures looked like protheans. But then we said nah that could not be.

I was hoping for something more new-y. New enemies in a whole new galaxy. Wasn't something mentioned as well in another leak about human outlaws, or bandits we'd have to deal with? Where'd they come from. Are they cerberus, too? Or the idea of cerberus.

But would an ARK that was not bankrolled by Cerberus have cerberus ships? I mean, where would these drop ships with cerberus logos be coming from? With aliens dropping out? Are these collector/vorcha looking ones supposed to be the Khet? Or did they stow away like Dr. Smith in the cargo hold?

Either these outlaws and aliens that look like ones we already know got there before we did, or we've been there awhile already. Or it's all bunk.

I don't want to see Cerberus either. I'm just trying to understand why they would have them return... IF the rumor is true.

That's easy - Super MAC can't kill his darlings. He'd rather kill the entire Milky Way than kill the ideas he likes.

As a side note, with Halo 3, I thought it took a lot of balls for Bungie to straight up remove elites as an enemy just to keep the narrative thread of the Brute-Elite civil war going. Given how iconic an enemy they were, I was worried they would find some way to keep them as the bad guys.

Would have been ballsy if they focused more on the Arbiter...but people complained about that in Halo 2 too much so he becomes second banana in the end.

Shame, really, he is the best character in that series.

Even though Halo 2 is the best game in the series (IMO).

That's the problem when you get Keith David to voice something. He's inevitably going to overshadow everyone else.

He was an even better Spawn than the live action one we all got.

Unfortunately, I can't like posts twice, or three times.

But yes, what you're stating here is objective truth.

He did kill the entire galaxy.  As least as far as future games are concerned

Yeah, unless BioWare's fanbase magically decides to realize Andromeda is hogwash.

I don't think Cerberus is going to be in Andromeda. Even if this rumor is true, the alien enemies are dropping out of Cerberus ships, which certainly points to reused assets. I suppose that could be a mystery  - why are these aliens from another galaxy using Cerberus ships/tech? Could be a red herring.

Though it has not been, and will likely never be, confirmed - I tend to take the old survey leak as being authentic (if based on a number of ideas that Bioware was only considering at the time). Cerberus is not mentioned at all.

All of you saying that it is reused assets, it's not.  ME3 was written for the Unreal engine.  ME:A is written for the Frostbite engine.

Models are models, and textures are textures. As long as BioWare have access to the original .mdl or .psd (or whatever generic format they use), they can put the model anywhere, and they definitely have access to the original file. There's probably still a non-negligible rigging process involved to get the model to properly animate within the Frostbite engine, but a reused model would still cut out the waiting time on from scratch assets.

Of course, this neither confirms nor denies anything.

That's only if Frostbite accepts those file types.  I'm not saying it does or it doesn't...   However, it's a little harder to program something in a game than "Hey Joe, you finished with that art yet?  Yeh, okay, let's ship!"

I have no idea what filetypes Frostbite accepts, but I'm certain that BioWare have access to the .psd/.3ds/.mdl/etc. that can be loaded into whatever modeling/texturing program they use and then exported into whichever filetype Frostbite prefers.

As I said, there is likely some non-negligible process BioWare devs need to go through to set up animated models in engine, but considering Cerberus models and animations already exist, that's two less things to wait on.
