Why is blonde slightly unlikely. There pretty much are 3 core colors of hair with many shades in between. Blonde is one of the core hair colors.

Don't get me wrong bioware despite pretending to be progressive caved to bigotry with femsheps marketing appearance really quickly. Maybe this is a intentional move after some self reflection.

Just because Bioware don't seem to do many blonde women. And IIRC there actually is lore in Mass Effect books which suggests that blonde hair is getting rarer, though I'm not sure that was good science.

The only part that really bugged me was the "NPCs call the protagonist 'Pathfinder'" bit. What a mouthful. It sounds so lame, and feels more appropriate to DA than ME.

Probably a placeholder as well since they don't have professional voice acting yet.

There might be some plausible reasons how Cerberus got on the ship, but please Bioware, don't let them become a major enemy again. It's time for something new, or are you out of ideas?

Just like I said in the other thread, regarding the Johnny Cash song...

What if we're the ghost riders in the sky?  If we have traversed billions of light years, it certainly is possible.  We could be warning others of working on AI and to avoid the battle that spans galaxies.

EDIT :  They wouldn't have put that song in there if there wasn't a reason, some developer (might be Mike Gamble, but I dunno) said that it was highly (if not extremely) important.

Focus tests in the middle of development probably use a lot of placeholder assets. Either because the models/textures etc. are not finished/created yet or to prevent spoilers. Bioware has to be aware of all the survey leaks by now.

This. There's no reason to flip out yet.

"Pathfinder" sounds like the name of one of Toyota's SUVs.

"Come on down to the dealership and take a gander at the new Toyota Pathfinder 2016.  It come equipped with all-wheel drive, automatic windows, and Wi-Fi."

That's what people said about the ME3 leaks. "They're just placeholders, there's no guarantee anything will end up in the final product!" And then everything ended up in the final product.

What makes things worse is this old teaser image of a BioWare artist designing a human character with the Cerberus logo on his shoulder. Everyone just assumed it was something else because the sheer absurdity of Cerberus making an appearance in Andromeda was much even for the most staunch of BioWare fans... and yet here we are.

If Cerberus is in this game I'm out.

I'm sorry. Mass Effect is my favourite gaming franchise but I am so, so done with them.

"Guys they have to go to Andromeda so they can explore new and interesting plotlines outside of the confines of the Milky Way and all the baggage that the endings would bring with it"

try defending that statement with Cerberus in tow, yet again

  • 2 Squad mates as before, a human blonde and a krogan mentioned
  • Main character is referred to as 'the pathfinder'
  • Story revolves around finding a new home for humanity and other races

And no non-human option for a protag?

They are kidding

there's no precedent to think we'd play a non-human character

"Buxom blonde female companion?"

No way that's making it into the final game. On the slim chance that it does, methinks it's going to be a lesbian only love interest. The rest of it sounds boring enough to be believable.

Yeah, well remember in ME3, Ashley WIlliams needed "sex appeal"

Seriously, I'll be shocked if all female (or even female-shaped) creatures in the game aren't "buxom"

Just because it's stupid, doesn't mean it's not very, very likely.

She is compared to her ME2 appearance.

Cerberus coming back sounds terrible really. Their story is done. This game is supposed to be about new things.

I don't see the connection between Cerberus existing and the endings or new plot lines being off anymore than a krogan being there.

Not liking it is fine, hey hate it. But there is no logic break in them being there given the limited information we have.

I'd love to look at some of those old threads now. Any idea where they'd be?
