I wonder what type of game this will be?

"Jay Watamaniuk, who has worked on the Mass Effect series for BioWare, has a history of tweeting about projects he is working on with BioWare. In his latest round of tweets, Jay has once again teased what he describes as a secret IP. He talks about a “big decision on character stuff” being made as recently as today.  He also goes on to indicate that writing has begun on this unknown game.  While this isn’t the first time that he has mentioned a secret project that he is working on, it is always interesting to get a little clue as to what BioWare are up to."

EDIT: I know Shadow Realms was canceled.

This is a new IP.

Well, count me curious about this. I've been wanting to see a new IP from Bioware for a while. Especially interested to know about this "big decision" regarding character content.

Shadow realms was cancelled or I am wrong. It is game where 4 players dungeon crawler, where you fight again's monster who is also player.

Unless I am mistaken shadow realms is not the new ip they are working on.  As a matter of fact i think that project was cancelled.  The new ip is something entirely  different.

According to the wiki, you are correct. That is unfortunate.

I know it's wrong, but I'm happy with the cancellation of SR. When it comes to Bioware I want rpgs with compelling stories and characters. Not some co-op games that can be made by any other studio.

And the main character of Shadow Realms was a transgender... eww.

It was also free to play.

To be honest Shadowrealms looked kind of boring, looked almost exactly like Inquisition multiplayer only with a human controlling the opposition.

With how much money EA makes from the multiplayer component of Bioware games I would not be surprised if they decided that it would be a good idea for Bioware to shift their focus in this direction. Shadowrealms looked like the logical step towards that, until it was canceled of course.

Who knows? Perhaps they might test the waters by releasing Andromeda's multiplayer component as a stand alone free to play deal?

Star Wars: The New Republic. Because EA aren't making enough Star Wars games at the moment.

I continue to hope (probably fruitlessly) that the new IP is a game that takes place in the modern day, and is just a really good life sim. But...you know. I'm probably pretty alone there.

I think that is the new IP that David Gaider is writing for instead of staying as lead writer of Dragon Age ^^

There's already a game like that. I play it all the time. Literally.

One of the tweets was immediately subtweeted by Gaider.

He's clearly working on Gaider's IP.  Don't know what it is yet, though.

I don't think that has been mentioned, just that he moved on DA to new IP.

Gaider was the one who announced job postings for writers on twitter, so I think it's a good indication he's lead.

It seems likely taking accord that he's also one of senior writers in Bioware and has experience being lead writer. Though I don't still believe it's confirmed yet :)

If you want modern day I would suggest Alpha Protocol...... and if you have the life of a covert espionage agent then it could be considered a life sim.

This really isn't a secret since this is referencing the "new IP" Casey Hudson was talking about the Mass Effect team basically moved to right after Mass Effect 3. Shadowrealms was another new IP that BioWare Austin was working on that nobody knew about until they unveiled it at Gamescon and most of the people forgot about until it was cancelled.  What makes this a secret is that aside from BioWare working on it and knowing a few of the BioWare people we know are working on it everything else is being kept quiet. Which I might add I am very thankful for, I much rather have a game announcement only a few months before release instead of barely any information for years.

I would like to see something in a more modern setting.  Maybe not quite present day, but definitely not futuristic or medieval.  Maybe something set in the 20's or 40's?  I would love to see a good rpg set in that era.
