I love the idea of a cyborg humanity and/ or humans being very close to synthetics and what if we could romance them? Not all synthetics are Mass Effect AIs, maybe some other alien synthetic has some form of emotion and is hyper advanced? If BioWare can allow "Homosexual" romances than why not allow us to romance some form of synthetic AI? I loved Legion!

Back in my day, romance was between a quarian and her envirosuit based pleasure software.
However ,for people who can't get a real girlfriend/boyfriend and thus want to screw a nonliving object that is vaguely shaped like a humanoid, I do have good news; that technology already exists. 
Not impossible thought. Saint Row and Fallout 4 have bit of this and not even with human-looking synthetics and human's and robot's relationship has been discussed topic for sure in fiction. Like Robin William's Bicentennial Man, it's quite classic film I believe. Personally I'd be more interested in cyborg/android type of romance though than full Al/robot, but I guess Al angle would be interesting as well. The problem there would be explain and write Al developing romantic feelings towards protagonist in way that made sense.

Not a man, and I don't think a completely natural revulsion at some undiagnosed mental patient sticking their naughty bits on/in a toaster is gender specific. Livestock buggery is less sick of a practice than these "romances".
I wanted to put Joker in a straight jacket for crew safety when he told me that he had looked for and found no regulation about "dating" a ship's AI. Sadly, the game's choices were not accomodating of reasonable, realistic responses to such an admission.

Honestly I find the concept...intriguing, just imagine having actual emotional context within a artificial program.
Its revolting physically, but when you actually get down to the brass tacks of emotion, physical appearance, lust etc, that romance actually entails it becomes curious to how a bit of software and hardware can actually emote. Because if it can emote, then it can be conditioned to feel that way towards a person, unconditional loyalty, AI with a far superior shackling then mere hardware locks.

This geth unit does not understand this concept. We don't possess 'mouths' nor genitalia. And we are incapable of 'true' love. We are however open to friendship and hugs.
Yep I don't think Geth quite fit to romances at all. Legion seemed to have attachment towards Shepard, but I don't think romance is sth Geth can understand and well feel. If they feel love it's platonic. Even EDI in my opinion didn't really seem to have romantic feelings towards Joker although she seemed to possess much more human-like emotions compared to Geth.
I guess that's reason why I would be more into cyborg/android romance than Al, Als in ME don't seem to possess similar feelings as organics do. Maybe if we would have Synthetic companion that was unshackled a long time ago instead of EDI who is just unshackled and discovering what it means to be a person, same with Legion who is discovering being individual instead of just part of consensus, we could get Al romance option that could work out better and would have more romantic feelings towards protagonist if their self-discovery has lead them to that.
