id be ok with the other factions returning too. and you should be able to join them.

I'm saying I didn't understand the stretch with not wanting factions means there is another group who doesn't want to see anything return at all.No. I never said nothing, I said its one of the few things that is portable. Races, tech, government, biotics, factions.. I'm running out. Saying the game is dead to me if a faction makes it or if it's not in the MW are the extreme positions.
There is a balancing act between too little and too much. Factions make a lot of sense to make it to the new galaxy depending on a couple factors like the size and background of the Ark. If we are talking a few thousand people it stretches believability. If it's millions+ it is hard to believe some mercs or other factions didn't find a way on. And once there the insecurity of the populace would make a great recruiting ground.
Cerebus might be coming back?
Ha.
Haha.
Hahahahahaha.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ha... Ha...

Yeah, pre-order cancelled.
A little extreme no? I'm sure everyone happy with returning races? No factions returning doesn't mean nothing from the last 3 games can return.
This is exactly my point. It's like people want everything to be 100% new. Not likely. Mass Effect has too much backstory and lore for Andromeda to just leave it all behind.
Next people will be saying that they don't want any weapons to return either. Let's be realistic here. ![]()
They're part of the lore, and they're probably going to be reduced to a ME1-like importance. So you could just missile them and move on. Nothing more.
People are overreacting over this.
No Cerberus at all? ![]()
I want the Collectors to return, or rather their technology since I'm hoping our Ark is a repurposed Black Ark aka Collector Cruiser.
I also wouldn't mind the Reapers returning in the sense of their legacy, ie Mass Relays in Andromeda.
The Collector/Prothean energy tech is impressive. Not a lot of energy weapons to fight with ever since thermal clips where introduced.
Stupid thermal clips. ![]()

Though of course it is an extreme to not want to play the game because of a certain group returning. I like your reason why it makes sense factions returning. But for me Cerberus return only makes sense if the ark went during the war. Another topic though.
Hey people are saying new means new, they want it totally different. Yes races are a given but people are asking for basically everything but the skeleton to be new. Others are saying without the Milky Way it's not mass effect. It's a hard balancing act to get right. Both extremes will be upset I expect, but the so called silent majority will be fine with factions and it not being in the Milky Way.
Pardon my lack of lore knowledge, but exactly what state is the Milky Way even in, after the mass relays were destroyed?

Cerberus' soldiers were amazing. Their armor and how they fought. I wouldn't like to see the organization back, but hopefully there will be soldiers as awesome as they were.

I don't want Cerberus to return. The organization should have died with Cronos. Even if there are some holdouts that held to their ideologies and such, there's no good reason for them to brandish the name and logo. As for mercs, they're meaningless. You could easily just replace Blue Suns with Star Bastards, change their colors and their effect as a faction would be unchanged.

Even in the worst possible state (other than refuse) it is still massively more advanced, industrialised, colonised, and populated than Andromeda will be with people from the milky way.
I generally don't think any organisations should be taken unless they were logically involved with however we get to Andromeda. If it is an Ark, these would only be any corporations directly involved in the construction. Why would any merc groups, collectors, geth, cerberus etc be in Andromeda? It needs to make sense from the story point of view. If you wanted these things it needs to stay in the Milky way. New groups would eventually form, but only after a significant period of time. They would likely form along racial lines as well.

To answer this question, I would have to ask this one: Just exactly how difficult (do you think) would it be to both reach and inhabit Andromeda?
I don't know. They seemed kind of lazy. Always lying down on the job.
Seems a common occurrence when Shepard is close by. Not only by Cerberus though.
But come on!
Most Salarians in *forgot the name* died by the awesome shock seeing Cerberus troopers invanding their homeland.

Cerberus was indeed formidable. I myself have died many a times by a Phantom hand cannon and her sync killing sword in MP. Let a 2 Atlas, a couple of armored Centurions and 3 Phantoms try close in on you (on Gold) and I promise you it won't be an easy exchange. While not impossible to kill them all in that situation, it is far from easy.
Hopefully Reapers so I can shoot more dumb zombie turian slaves in the face. Ancestors, they were by far the EZiest enemy faction to singlehandely ROFLstomp with my quarians. They really should have indoctrinated a better species as their main fighting force to provide more of a challenge. Look at Cerberus and the Collectors. Even the stupid toasters put up a better fight than the indoctrinated turians and their crappy Phaestons, who always end up geting carried by their asari (Banshee) teammates because they suck so hard.

We don't know how they get there yet, but you edited out my proviso when you were quoting me. That sentence was based on the assumption a small contained group constructed an Ark in secret. In that case it doesn't make sense for any merc groups to be there.
On the other hand, if it was set 300 years after the reaper war and a giant stable wormhole/relay had been opened for continuous traffic between the milky way and Andromeda, then yeah, merc groups can be there. But I don't think this setting is a very likely one for the story.

"Cerberus isn't just an organization or the people behind it. Cerberus is an idea. That idea is not so easily destroyed."
You're taking Cerberus?! Of all the things you could have brought over to Andromeda you chose Cerberus?!
I'm... at a loss for words.

I like that idea. I just don't want Andromeda to be inhabited by mindless creatures with the max I.Q. of a pyjack.
I'm all for another all female race as well ![]()

I'd love to come across a planet only inhabited by aliens like these.
They're not the cutest, but I think they definitely have potential.

There should be Andromeda natives absolutely!!! Lots and lots of them.
Just don't need to take too much from the milky way unless they write it in a way that makes sense.
"Cerberus isn't just an organization or the people behind it. Cerberus is an idea. That idea is not so easily destroyed."
Yeah, I don't think Cerberus would be completely destroyed. But I struggle to see why they should be Andromeda, it clearly wasn't the Illusive mans plan.

Your pro Cerberus status is admirable. If there ends up being PvP in Andromeda's MP...
*Ahem*
I WILL DESTROY YOU!

I'd suspect remnants that piggybacked into the Alliance portion of the project. Despite their fleet, despite their soldiers and equipment that has always been their strength, their ability to have agents placed in even the most classified of Alliance projects.
Probably a few dozen at most at start.
I'd suspect their numbers are relatively low if present, but I wouldn't object to their return, They need a new home too.
