No, because Skyrim belongs to the Nords!
------------
But no, it possibly might though it will be more of a 'colonial/settlers' motif I'd say before going into the imperialism vibe farther into the overall narrative.

Maybe Bioware should tackle the issue of the refugees instead of imperialism. Seems to be more relevant as of today.
Yes they did that in DA2. But DA2 was a flop compared to Origins and ME2. The fact is we are once more running away from certain doom. As far as we know so far, we are regufees more than we are conquerors.

Oh God no.
I would not mind if choices exist and if the moral system is not a binary system of the egotism vs. altruism type, wherein it is impossible to benefit yourself without stealing and killing, and it is impossible to hurt someone else by being altruistic. Also, please do not make it so that being altruitsic automatically leads to everybody treating you wonderfully, since in real life there are such beings as sociopaths who take advantage of everybody else, and most easily do so to altruists. Something that should be added: mutually beneficial exchange, win-win scenarios, and the possibility of getting rich and powerful by respecting others and providing things for them, in exchange for money or other forms of wealth. That is just one example of how a valid morality could exist, but only if the binary renegade-paragon system is dropped.
There is no way we won't stop in anyone's toes when going to new galaxy and exploring and colonialising it. But I don't think we will actually take over nations and societies.
I'm having a blast playing Fallout 4 as a Brotherhood of Steel loyalist it's quite fun.
I would love for a Renegade human to have an Imperialist path it would be quite fun like playing with the Sith Empire in SWTOR. I enjoy playing evil, it's so refreshing from the traditional good heroes. Well I can only hope but I doubt it will be the case knowing BWlatest games.
Makes no sense to go all imperialistic in Andromeda, probably even detrimental to our goals, so yeah it´s probably in.

I'm using imperialism loose here. I don't mean creating an empire or being conquerer and stuff. It doesn't need to be that scale. Something like Avatar for example, but expanded to more situations.
Imperialism? Not so much. But a refugee crisis and how people handle it? (see current events)
Yeah, sure.
I don't think the issue with refugees modern day would really apply here. Of course, it's possible that the travelers from the Milky Way all end up on Vogsphere and have to spend the next 50 years waiting for their paperwork to be processed.

I guess it's likely that we have at least chance to practice some imperialism then. I don't think Bioware would force us to play the bad guys though, but I expect some conflict with us and Andromeda species that could either be solved with us taking their stuff like land and forcing them away or negotiation etc.

I just hope our PC can sit back and sip coffee when we spank these Andromedans

To each their own. I can easily see Andromedans having issues with Milky Wayans that are fleeing their homes due to the Reapers.
After all, they could be Reaper pawns sent to terrorize Andromeda. Or they're just huge losers.

I hope so. Let the native Andromedans flourish under our benevolent leadership or resist and be crushed by our might. Ad Imperium!

*snip pic of blowfish*
Oh, I can see them having issues, but unlike refugees, the Milkies will probably have enough firepower and Science™ to crush them.
signed in just to like this.

Only if they're not infinitely more advanced.

But they wouldn't be. And even if they were, you can be certain that the game will throw us some sort of plot device that would suddenly give us an edge. ME1 did it with Vigil's data file, ME2 did it with the IFF and then we got the Crucible. By all rights the reapers should have simply stomped us flat with absolutely no hope of winning, but that shite's no fun.
But they wouldn't be.
You have no way of knowing that.

A likely scenario, considering the developer.
I liked that they addressed this in the Trespasser DLC for DA: I. I was totally planning on keeping all the land I seized from Orlais and Ferelden. For order, of course.
I've been planning to make a similar thread actually. I don't think it will involve actual dominant imperialism, but I am concerned that there might be parallels with western colonization and tension with less advanced native species.
I really hope they avoid anvilicious allegories.
