I just acquired the Superb Ring of Armor Penetration. Trying to decide who should equip it. Can a mage use it? My party is my PC who's a KE, Solas, Sera and Cassandra. Thanks for any opinions.

Your mage can equip it, but it's useless on a mage, because armor penetration is irrelevant to magic-based attacks.

If Sera has a good bow and high average crit damage, give it to her. Otherwise, give it to Cass. That's assuming each has a ring finger to spare. If you already have them fully ringed with crit or attack, or flanking or sunder, respectively, don't bother with AP. Unless you are doing a lot of dragon or Revenant/Knight hunting.
