The Dread Wolf track is so beautiful, I need a clear MP3 ASAP. The Dark Solas Theme I bought from the DLC album on Amazon has the melody but it's the intense combat version. I want the haunting, sweeping, Madame-Butterfly-Opera-Level version, pleeeaasssee

Why didn't I know that was FINALLY released? Isn't the piece you're referring to the Lost Elf Theme? I'm really irked that this is a separate purchase, as I bought the DLC and the deluxe edition which included the vanilla soundtrack. I don't use itunes or amazon music! BP

No, Lost Elf Theme is a separate track that plays during the epilogue slides. The track that plays when talking to Solas is a different arrangement, mostly in instrumentation.

I... *listens to Lost Elf Track*

Oohh, it is the same theme again! Sorry, I hadn't listened to all the tracks on the album yet. But, alas, this one is too slow! Same melody but the instrumentation, the mood - it is not the *Dread Wold* theme. That's the name of the track I believe. The Dread Wolf. Or so says YouTube *clears throat*

Ah, crap. Well, now Bioware is going to be like, "look, I released that melody in at least two different versions - the mellow Lost Elf version and the intense Dark Solas version. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT, I'M NOT RELEASING AGAIN"

that's what they'll say. Damnit, I can't believe whoever produces these soundtrack releases always squander their one opportunity and screw it up, omitting THE BEST track. The sweet spot track is ALWAYS suspiciously absent from these score releases. Like Mass Effect did the same thing. Dragon Age Origins, too, leaving out the astounding Ostagar background music from the beginning of the game before the Kocari Wilds. Do they do this on purpose? Do they secretly guard the best tracks, hiding them lest they be raped and somehow corrupted by the sheer volume of downloads they'd cause?

Gah

Is this your intent, Bioware? You left out the Ostagar theme, left out the Dread Wolf theme - the best ones. Just to prove nothing can truly be enjoyed in the world and there is no paradise.

And now I have the image of little borne out of wedlock  baby tracks crying out for multilated mothers who sell themselves for downloads and food (feedback)

Otherwise good music.

Oh my Zeus! You're right. Blast...I even stooped so low as to pop into Amazon to buy the Trespasser tracks. I already burned a darn disk! With the wrong track. :( I feel so violated. The sample on Amazon was deceiving. I obviously haven't listened to that song on YouTube enough. I can't. It gives me the weepy angsties.

What's up with these guys? Let me guess. Coming this holiday season (after the uber fans already bought the tracks available on itunes/amazon) Dragon Age Inquisition the Soundtrack, Ultimate Deluxe Game of the Year Edition! Available on CD, vinyl, or digital download for TOO MUCH MONEIES! Featuring all the musicks! UGH.

I'll just make a pretty fan tears remix that blends both of the versions for my own hellspiral purposes. Good enough for the likes of me. Oh, wait...I don't know how to do that. May the Dread Wolf take you BioWare!

I was pretty disappointed not to get the awesome theme from when you meet Solas again. Wonder why they didn't release that one?

I'm totally with OP on this. The Dread Wolf song, which they didn't release for some reason, is way better than the Dark Solas Theme. Ridiculous how they make these decisions.

My crush on Solas is escalating now omg

The one I'm listening to plays the entire song. ListenOnRepeat can handle anything beyond that.

Yeah I was disappointed to see that the track that plays during Solas' final scene with the Inquisitor is not on this album. I did snag a good quality audio track of it from one of the YouTube videos, though.

Although I would have liked to hear the Dread Wolf music (or whatever it's called), I prefer the Dark Solas Theme.  As usual with these things, there's no "right" or "wrong," just preference.  I also wouldn't say it's ridiculous, since these kinds of releases are typical for scores (I own many scores that are incomplete for whatever reason).  That said, I appreciate the frustration some folks are experiencing.

I'd say its ridiculous. Its not as if the music file is missing or something. They have no reason not to release the track. Not to mention, as the OP and others have, its the BEST version of that theme. Though all the variations are good, The Dread Wolf seems like its the principle representation of that theme. Its certainly the one that makes you stop and listen to it in game. Its the one emotionally associated with the Solas scene.

I guess I'll have to stick to the video I found on youtube for now. :/

The Dark Solas Theme is good too, and one of the best songs in the entire DAI collection. However, as stated in the above post, there is no reason they couldn't have this and the Dread Wolf song (why not have both?! lol). It's as if some Bioware executive just told some random employee to publish 5 song from Descent and 5 songs from Trespasser without putting much thought in to it. A soundtrack can have more than 10 songs.

I find it utter bull crap that people who paid their hard earned money for this dlc have to pay separately for this soundtrack. You people are ok with this? Where I live, those 2 dlcs cost me $30, which is a lot of money. The least I should expect is that they provide the ost for it without charging me money again.

Composers usually provide "stems", or pieces, of each track to a game developer. Whereas the "Dark Solas" theme is the original complete piece of music, the "dread wolf" track sounds like a combination of a few of the stems from it. Do you guys think that every iteration presented in the game should be included in the soundtrack?

Oh, I've been listening to the Dark Solas Theme on loop all day regardless. I love that track too, of course. But yeah, I would've preferred Dread Wolf track.

Well I do have ot disagree with that. I think its reasonable to charge for a clean soundtrack. I mean, sure I'd love it if it was comped, but I can't expect that in good conscience.

However, I feel we CAN expect the *whole* soundtrack, not just select tracks. :/
