If you're judging by performance optimization, then nothing beats Talon/Hurricane.

 

Much as I love the scoped talon, mine is level II. Still good on most kits, but on a vanguard, acolyte X is better.

Talking about not-so-OP builds, GI w/ Indra or Valiant is quite fun too, the RoF incease from HM really helps these 2 guns.

Valiant benefits from it ? I wld guess it s allready fast

 

Since I can't use Hunter Mode*, the GI isn't quite the same creature in my hands. I should play around with him more, though, because a full fitness GI with Proxy Mine is still an insanely powerful character in its own right. I find the playstyle a tad boring, which is probably why I don't use it much, but it does make Gold/Platinum easier and more straightforward.

i dont pay attention anymore, but i didnt notice much difference between the spreads with or without the quickscop

well - I can say for sure that it makes a huge difference with "normal" characters - and is actually necessary.

 

 

On the GI though it may be sufficient to shoot without scoping in. I will check the pellet spread on the wall tonight.

If you're close enough to an enemy, you can shoot without scoping. Otherwise just find a good RHA position, scope and start shooting until everything is dead, unscope, rinse and repeat. It's not that annoying once you get used to it.

the concept of the Raider is different from the talon.

no scoping, just bam bam in da face,
nothing left to complain or shoot back.

only problem is that even with smart choke the accuracy would have needed to be a little better if you wanted to hit with more pellets from midrange.

there the GI comes into play...

Drill ammo in the Talon says otherwise. While you could use the same ammo with the Raider it's nowhere near as effective. Plus you can play the GI just as aggressively if not more so with the Talon since you have more rounds before the reload gets in the way of your murder spree. 

 

Frankly, even the cheesiest of kits have a tough time keeping up with a good Talon/GI player.

what happens when you use the piercing mod + piercing ammo,
do you get the best of both worlds: penetration distance and less DR?
I know that piercing distance of 2 mods can stack. but

someone here said that there was a thing when you do this with guns that don't have innate piercing. but I can't remember

No idea. I stopped playing numbers a long time ago and just go with what works.

 

Use this and worry about that other stuff later: build. Most pugs won't know what you were shooting at because it'll be dead before they see it. Could use armor piercing as well. Drill just lets you hammer stuff through slightly thicker walls and will get double hits more reliably.

YEAH, piercing mod plus piercing ammo on non inhate piercing gun, you loose damage, the portion of the piercing mod ... SO, u better use piercing ammo or piercing mods most of the time

I like to make my GI black and red, use the GPS and search for Geth games in progress.

 

I estimate I am responsible for 5000+ wasted rounds of ammunition and at least two missiles.
