This probably has been written about/discussed around as many times as reapers have harvested the galaxy, however I still feel the need to vent my frustration. Mods feel free to move/close/delete the thread at your own discretion(as if you need my permission).

By this point you probably realize that I'm talking about the face import problem. For most of you this is old news, and you've probably found a way around it or a way to deal with the change. As a newcomer to the series, this is a big deal for me.

I hated how stock Shepard looked like. Like someone shaved Ken doll's head and strapped a suit of space-armor on him. Not only wasn't he a badass material, he didn't even look human. So I made custom character, which might not look like your idea of a grizzled war veteran at least looks like a human(I think I overdid it with brow height, but that's besides the point).

I put close to 170 hours in ME1 & ME2 playthrough, and as you'd expect I've grown quite attached to the looks. So, imagine my surprise when I import the character from ME2 and it looks like something that has descended from the 12 generations of dedicated, selective inbreeding of down syndrome chimps.

I was under the impression that a patch had addressed much of the import issues. I can't speak from experience, because I imported my character before the patch, and ended up much preferring the face that I created to replace the mess that was imported.

By the time the patch was out, I was no longer interested in going back and importing my character from scratch. Perhaps the patch didn't work very well, but if you tried it while offline, try shutting the game down, logging in to EA servers, and then launching it again, just to make sure you have all the latest patches. If that doesn't work, you may have to do your best to recreate the fact manually.

My research suggested that the patch only dealt with the problem of not importing the face at all(imorting the stock look) and there's no help for people like me. Plus I ended up spending a lot of time trying to recreate close semblance of previous look and don't really feel the inclination to go through already completed parts of the game again. maybe on my second playthrough.
