For the most part I really like the alternative skill upgrades, sure most are useless, but there are a few good ones. The war horn upgrade though is completely OP. I just tried using it with one of my warriors for the first time and I am speechless. I gave Iron Bull the upgrade and set warhorn to preferred, now my party is constantly at full guard even on nightmare with trials on. Who thought this was a good idea?
Sure go ahead and nerf KE but add a skill that completely breaks the game...makes sense. That said, I won't use it, I'm just surprised someone actually put this in the game.

Did you mean Horn of Valor/Fortifying Blast? Since you mentioned guard, I figured you got the wrong horn by the Bull.
I highly recommend reading this entire thread: http://forum.bioware...pgrade-toggles/
It goes over all of the new toggles. Many of them are game breaking. I skated through Trespasser with Ice Mine/Ice Array + Ice Armor, pun intended.
The most broken toggle by far is Combat Roll/Coming Through. People are soloing NM all Trials with just that skill and the new barrier amulet and a lot of crit gear.
And yes, when Trespasser came out, the consensus here was WTF were they thinking? So many great improvements to challenge (Trials), so many game breaking changes that completely overshadowed those gains in challenge.

I agree with PapaCharlie9 that the new Horn of Valor upgrade is only one among a lot of things that are OP.
As said, Combat Roll/Coming Through is by far the most OP new skill. Basically, it's an AOE attack skill that does 450% weapon damage (the "250%" in-game description is incorrect), with a 2 second cooldown, that is also a defensive skill and a maneuverability skill at the same time.
Trespasser kinda made everything OP. Other OP things include:
1. the enhanced amulet of barrier,
2. the sigil of the great bear (on rift mage),
3. encore schematic,
4. chromatic greatsword schematic (hard to imagine they'd put in something even more OP than the bugged Axe of the Dragon Hunter),
5. Elgarnan enaste schematic (due to a bug, it give triple hits when equipped with a rune, and reportedly 6x hits with a rune and the gurn hide masterwork),
6. the belt of inferno pact,
7. the new ice mine upgrade, etc...
Although not due to Trespasser, using high level schematics at the start of the game through the golden nug is also OP.
However, the only thing that is so OP to the extent that i'm not willing to use it is Combat Roll/Coming through.
