Some of the best conversations I had in ME3 was with him. When Shepard said "Without these affections, all I have in my life is death. And that is not enough." about my LI being the reason she fought to win against the reapers.

This scene alone made me like Javik. It was one of the most powerful moments in the entire trilogy no doubt.

Absolutely adore Javik and his fothrightness, one of the few saving graces of a truly poor squad roster options.

How about you grow a pair?

Anyways, Javik is one of the best characters in the trilogy, alongside ME1 Ashley, Mordin, Wrex, and Garrus.

Javik: The master of sass. One playthrough I brought him with me everywhere. He is very vocal about his opinions, and most of his opinions are so off-kilter.

My first impressions of Javik were good and that I liked him.  That kept going.  I really like the character.  He's no subsitute for Legion and the game wasn't as good because I couldn't have him around, but Javik was an acceptable consolation prize.

To say I like Javik would be wrong - there's too much where I don't agree with him - but he's a fascinating character and the story would be poorer without him. He says quite a few things worth listening to and there are some meme-worthy lines in this story ("Their sacrifice will be honored in the coming empire"). He's also our windows into a Prothean civilization that nicely subverts the "benevolent precursor" image that most people believed in in the earlier games.

My first impressions were that he would be interesting from a lore perspective and that I liked his voice. Then, despite Liara being my LI in that run he did voice some things about the asari I wished my Shep could have said, and I found him genuily funny.

I may not agree with him, but he was much more memorable and liked addition than, well, Tali or Vega. When I think back on ME3 I remember that Tali was a squad member because she has been in all three games, not because of her contributions in that game.

He's a very bad character. Almost as bad as the game itself. Almost.

It seems primitives are good at one thing, at least.

I didn't mind him at first, thought he seemed interesting but then I started getting annoyed with him lol.

I liked how they did Javik but I hate that he actually exists, because there was no need to ruin the mythos of the prothean by letting us see one alive 50k years after their extinction. It was well done, but it was still too convenient and cheap and it made the world feel smaller.

What was really convenient about him? Had he been a scientist that offered a great deal about the Crucible, then perhaps he would've been, but being essentially a grunt nobody that didn't know any more than Shepard did, while totally ruining Liara's idea of what the Protheans were really like was pretty enjoyable.

And it made sense - the protheans were an imperialistic species, they would prioritize the avatar of their vengeance, someone who is a soldier to the bone (probably bred for it, though that probably takes us into the realm of headcanons for the protheans), someone willing to take on the choices of the cruel calculus of conflict. They wouldn't prioritize a scientist's survival, they wanted a soldier who would lead the fight.

After all, they weren't expecting him to be in that pod for fifty thousand years. He was supposed to be a leader of soldiers, the head of a new prothean empire. He ended up being the last survivor of his species.
