Hi,

I've just recently started this game and I am having some trouble with character creation. I usually play women and go for a feminine look. Now all the default heads look like dudes or something monstrous and no matter how I fiddle with the settings I can't seem to find anything I like. I've seen some pictures on line of those who managed to create something I can look at for 100+ hours and not feel disgusted, but I can't pull off anything similar.

Is there anyone here that can help me to get through this and craft a good looking woman so I can get this inquisition thing rolling?

Thanks!

Check out this thread for a number of sliders for all sorts of inquisitors: http://forum.bioware...ruggle-with-cc/
Sometimes easier to go off another creation making your own slight adjustments as you see fit. Feel free to poke in the 'Post Pictures of your Inquisitor' thread and ask for tips.

Hi. Thanks for that. It'll help a lot. Most of them still look pretty bad though, but I guess that's just the CC and it's horrendous templates.

I took me hour upon hour over months and months before I could create anything looking slightly better than a horses arse.  In the end you just have to make do, and pretend that they look vaguely palatable.   It's when you character smiles or grimaces, it's scary.

Yeah, I was afraid of that, which is why I came here. I'm usually pretty good with character creation in games, but with this it's just near impossible to create an attractive woman. There's some sliders missing to make the necessary adjustments. I also found some mods on the nexus so I will also look into that. The default skin textures are pretty bad as well.

If your talented and are having a extremely lucky day, then you might ( if the wind is blowing in the right direction), get a character that you can live with.  Good luck.  ;)

Haha thanks. The thing that bothers me most with this cc is that AGAIN there's no support for colorblind people like me. I have to guess which color I'm picking. With one of of ten men being colorblind you'd think that they would help you and NAME the damn color in character creation.

Don't feel so bad, it usually takes me anywhere from 6 hrs to almost 3 days for a decent looking character.

What's the difference? It's not like you're going to see the colors anyway, right?

I see the colors, I just don't know which is which. Common colorblindness doesn't mean you can't see colors. Besides, I don't want my wife to tell me I created a green haired girl when I was going for brown hair. Character Creators should assist colorblind people. Period, it shouldn't be discussed, it should be implemented. Many cc's do this, Bioware just hates colorblind people. As a matter of fact I'm beginning to think they hate women too.

Miracle's do happen.  I was playing about with the character creator this morning, and by pure fluke I created a character that looked okay.  That's the first time I have been able to achieve this, and I'm pretty proud of myself.  :)  It was male though, males in DA:I look prettier than females.

Depending on race you can create..

A malnourished stick insect with big ears.

The remains of a goat after it has been run over by a bus.

Someone's bottom with a wig placed on top of it.

I find the character creation is easier to use if you base your character off a photo of a real person. Less likely to fall into uncanny valley territory,

I have just started to play the Mass Effect series again, and the character generator in Mass Effect 1 gives you a nicer looking character than it does in DA:I.  :D

Choose first a shape from the defaults.
Choose Hair
Then make the eyes, try to visualise ONLY from the eyes and up in this part. do not take into account the nose and mouth as you can customise these later. choose a pair of eyes you like. Imagine putting a large sticker in the screen to cover from the eyes and down

Then choose Nose and once again do not take into account mouth and lips. magine putting a large sticker in the screen to cover from the nose and down

Then mouth.

Finally make final micro adjustmetns.

i follow the same exact procedure in every face editor and i always get results.

My male and female inquisitor were very good-looking  in my western standards.
But yeah DaI editor is not good.

I'd say look toward the end of the CC creation thread People started getting better with the CC in later months. You should have far less trouble if you're on PC because it's super easy to make an attractive character on the PC due to mods. If not on PC, then a female elf is easiest to make attractive, then female dwarf. Female humans tend to suffer from a giant, sloping forehead effect that makes them look like neanderthals.
