Kai Leng. Worst villain ever.

Kai Leng, Ashley, Jack, Zaeed and Brooks.
Kai Leng: Definetly a waste of a character.
Ashley: an annoying xenophobe.
Jack: I just don't care what personal problems you have, I just won't stop a critical mission to go to a planet in the midle of nowere for you to blow up an abandoned facility. That's just nuts.
Zaeed: Selfish little ******. Never got his loyalty too, he jeopardized his own mission and didn't want to face the consequences for it.
Brooks: Baddly written comic relief.

I completely agree about Wrex and the genophage. Utter whitewashing, and downright poor writing. I didn't get a single chance to bitchslap Wrex for forcing me to move Eve through a warzone for the sake of his paranoia, I had to side with him when he butchered the Sur'Kesh mission, and I had to keep talking about what a great person Wrex was.
It made killing him on Virmire so much easier. I had one playthrough where he's alive because I wanted to see what he was like on the Citadel DLC. I regret it, because he turned into a Mary Sue.
I try and save everyone I can, but Wrex was really making me rethink that decision during the Genophage Arc. He's supposed to be a mutant, a Krogan that is smarter than the rest, is more willing to listen to reason, but he comes across as more belligerent and single minded than even the average Krogan. Heck, Grunt is better at adapting to changing circumstances, and thinking things through than Wrex is.
Not only does his push for the cure hinder everyone else's plans to stop the Reaper advance, it dissolves any sway he had over the other clans; since he told us in ME 2 that it was only by maintaining a monopoly on the viable females that clan Urdnot was able to maintain power and authority. Also, if he is around to discover the sabotage his response is to lead the Krogan into open hostilities with the Alliance; the people trying to help save them; or at least he would have if Shepard and C-Sec hadn't been there to put him down.

Star Child, obviously, Deus Ex Machina have been hated for the last 2000 years old, not sure why Bioware went with that...

A few people are mentioning Diana Allers...
I completely forgot she existed. Guess that says a lot about her usefulness.
Seriously, I'm trying to remember anything she did other than pester me with questions that never amounted to anything but Paragon or Renegade points. She was like a generator. Or houseplant.
In fact, I think I'll call her Houseplant from now on.

I liked Bernadotte's proclamation to his soldiers at the outset of the Leipzig campaign (15 August 1813), I liked Antigenes' trash-talk before the Battle of Paraitakene, and I have an unhealthy adoration for most of Sam Grant's military quotations. It's not that Shep is too rah-rah because I can like rah-rah. It's not that Shep is purple because Bernadotte was purple.
The best thing that I can come up with here is that Shep's speeches sound too tryhard. Same with Kirrahe's (in?)famous lines in the first game. Like a junior officer who's heard generals make good speeches and wants to imitate them but doesn't know how.
Generals don't make good speeches. Except for the 5 star gods back in WW2. Basically speeches by Americans and Brits. Those are good.
I don't know how you're judging "tryhard" here.
From experience, the speeches actually do tend to fire up the rank and file. The Generals generally give the same speech, except theirs go a bit too long and a bit not-over-the-top enough.
In fact, I'll postulate (based on my own experience) that it's the inverse of what you'll say. I'm not going to say that it is like that all the time (and I'm not trying to refute you, at least not directly), but the NCO's who give the over-the-top speech tend to be the best. That's what I would let my PSG's and First Sergeant do.

I'm not sure why we're talking about battle speeches, but since we are, always enjoyed Maximus' one in Gladiator.

My least favorite character in the entire franchise... hmm, that's hard.
I really intensely dislike Zaeed. Such a disappointing DLC character. He came across as essentially an evil maniac and I could not for the life of me figure out why I had recruited him. I erased that DLC and never looked back.
Characterization is normally so great in ME, even the minor characters; it's hard to think of anyone else.
Hating "Star Brat" is a bit like hating Vigil; I still get the sense that the majority of players don't even really understand the ending...

Are you implying that the indoctrination theory is canon? Well guess what, Bioware already debunkled it. Don't dig yourself a grave.
And yes, i am aware that i spelled "debunked", "debunkled" It's more silly that way.

To be honest i don't like the asari very much in general, their whole concept is just "generic blue space babes"
They are good asari characters though.

Honestly I can't say that I hate any of them. I dislike Liara, Kaiden, and Ashley. I dislike Kai Leng and Aria. But I don't have the same hatred for them that I have for certain Dragon Age characters, for instance.
Which ones?

There are some Asari I like.
I like Aethyta and that decetive you meet when recutiung Samara. but since I first meet Liara, she has always annoyed me. and it got worse with ME2 and ME3.

Maybe you were talking about the vanilla ending and not the extended one.
but then again it changes the resolution of the choices not the actual beef people have with it.

Explain the ending then. Personal per peeve but the whole you didn't get it thing irritates me. You seem fairly polite so I am not assuming the implication I think most try to drop when saying you don't get it. But instead of just saying you don't get it. Tell us what we don't get so we can understand where you are coming from.Sorry I don't even know what the "indoctrination theory" is lol

Hate? not really anyone. They are just game characters not real people, I can't hate them like I would hate a real person. Dislike though? Several;
Conrad (his appearance in ME3 was pretty funny though)
Most Volus (exception: Biotic God)
Chobot (can't even remember the character's name lol)
Udina (but we're supposed to hate him)
Kelly Chambers (the space **** - Traynor is 10x better and I would have romanced her if she wasn't a lesbian)
#248
Posté 02 décembre 2015 - 12:34
Allers. Hands down, Allers.
And previous poster...Chambers was not lesbian and you could, in a weak way, romance her. She was entirely lacking judgement on sex partners (Morden hinting at "someone" contracting/spreading a varren STI on the ship in ME2).

I, and likely most people, liked Liara well enough and she was clearly the intended/favored LI in the series by the devs as she was thrown at Shepard in many subtle and not so subtle ways. I let Shep romance her in a couple play-thrus but he was mostly an Ashley guy. My only real irritation with Liara was in ME1 where she had a repeated need for a fainting couch and smelling salts.

Don't hate any character really. The worst a character could do, is bore me.
I'm not really fond of Jacob though.
