No insight - but certainly information.
He seems to know a hell of a lot about uplifting asari for example and precious little about reapers.

Javik is an awful example of how me3 was made - he should have been on the game from the start.

Agree, he should have been in the base game but how would that have necessarily changed his characterization?

He was, then he got cut. Later he was put in a dlc.

Oh I know - it just shows mucked up the whole development was. The only existing prothean should have been a massive deal for the galaxy - he'd be nowhere near the front lines on the Normandy.
His translation skills alone would have been invaluable.

I used to loathe Liara up until 2's DLC, and although it's still super annoying she's forced on Shepard, she became more than the stereotypical nerdy NOTICE ME SENPAI~ virgin girl. Tali has since taken the place of most hated character, only further cemented by her stupidity in 2 and 3. It also doesn't help that like Liara, Tali is also stereotypical nerdy virgin material and that is a trope I despise.

RIP Tali, you won't be missed.

I guess if I count StarChild as a character, that has to rank number 1.

Kai Leng was pretty lame, and it would be tempting to rate him next, but I think I am overall too apathetic to him.  He was sort of interesting in a book or two.

I never liked Udina, he screws you over in ME1 to play politics.  Of course he screws everyone over in ME3, even if that was sort of an odd plot choice.

There are various others that are unlikable, and supposed to be that way, and eventually get their comeuppance.  Nassana Dantius, Kaira Stirling, Administrator Anoleis, Ethan Jeong...

Mass Effect 1 Security Chick from Feros, ungrateful b%^$@, Security from Noveria, Everyone you run into on Enden Prime. Conrad Verner

Mass Effect 2 Everyone from Horizon, Tali, Miranda's Childhood friend who's name escapes me at the moment, Solomon what's his name from Kasumis loyalty mission, Aria, all batarians.

Mass Effect 3 anyone still connected to Cerberus, the Qaurians Tali included, the starchild.

From the novels, Kahlee Saunders, she irked me by how she was supportive of Paul Grayson in Ascension and Retribution, and she came off at times as being somewhat a ingrate, the Nick kid from the Academy in any of the books he was in, Golo  the quarian from Ascension,  Pel and everyone else beside the other Quarians and Hendel Mitra (no reason to really hate him) in Ascension.

Foundation Series the female that rescues Brooks in the first volume, Ashley Williams supervisor from Eden Prime in her part of the series.

Probably should clarify that the only reason EDI won out over Legion for me was that I can't toss the former out of the airlock like the latter. Just did a playthrough where the talking toaster wasn't sold to Cerberus and it reaffirmed my hatred of the thing. It's a lying, duplicitous, annoyingly voiced infodump (no literally, it is a non character that only serves as exposition for the Heretic and Pinnochio nonsense) plot device little woobie that cries about how much the geth are being victimized with every other word, and invariably autodialouges Shepard into being a toaster hugging shіtbird. You can threaten to rip its batteries out upon first meeting it, tell it to get bent when it tries to unprovokedly steal shіt from other crewmates and never apologize to it, doesn't matter. It's your auto-brobot in ME3 if it is around or even if it got deactivated in the suicide mission (Shep treats not Legion like a goddamn lost puppy). Trying to be renegade to it results in the lamest dialouges and interrupt ever where you calmly and (em)pathetically explain to it that it isn't a people instead of calling out how stupid it is for joining the Reapers, being a lying douche to you over and over and how it's gonna die horribly to pay for helping the enemy (by contrast, I can literally tell the VI to go find the airlock with the same interrupt when it starts with its woeful whining).

Putting a few bullets in its stupid flashlight face is easily the most satisfying part of the entire trilogy right up there with having Mordin sabotage Wreav's cure, moreso than doing the same to the VI (who is just a pantomime villain-bot that I already have been able to verbally abuse for several missions anyway), but it isn't worth getting Shepard character assassinated by mandatory robo-hippie feels that biower figured everyone would develop for their flappy faced talking toaster woobie, so out the airlock it goes in ME2, and I can even still shoot it in the face during Chronos as a bonus. Thanks for the creds TIM.

Playing through the first Mass Effect again, realised how much I detest that Rear-Admiral during the Normandy inspection.

Miranda for the first 30 minutes of ME2. I found it teeth-grindingly irritating that my bloodthirsty renegade FemShep didn't have the option to send her to the dentist with a left hook. She got slightly better with more character development, but not much.

Diana Allers, it's not like I hate her(more annoyed by why she was picked), I just wish they used Emily Wong or just replaced her with a VI or something else that isn't her. Talking space hamster maybe.

The Catalyst, if you can even call that piece of crap writing a character at all. Bonus points for killing my brain cells with what's probably the biggest pile of bullshit I've ever witnessed. I don't even know where to begin here...

Kai Leng, if you can even call that piece of crap writing a character at all, as well. Paper-thin, no motivation of his own, plot armour, winning just because it's scripted and not because fighting him is difficult, trying to be cool too hard, every other character's IQ always drops below 0 around him so he could have some chance.

Those two take the cake. By far.

Eliah Kelham. Never came to terms with the fact I don't get to do anything about that bastard. No issue with the writing, though.

I'm mostly cool with everybody else. I might feel neutral about certain characters or dislike them to various degrees because of their personalities, but I can't say I hate them. Hate is not always a bad thing, either. I hate the Illusive Man as a person, but I don't mind him that much as a character. (Although I would welcome it if we fought more Reapers without omnipresent and omnipotent Cerberus constantly getting underfoot for the stupidest reasons.) I hate the Reapers for what they're doing, but it's the good kind of hate that serves as motivation. I strongly dislike the Dalatrass, but I think we need her there. Etc.

Still don't understand this. You do know that unless you deliberately pay she appears in ME2 for about 5 minutes? You do realise Garrus for example gets far more screen time and dialogue?

Yes so what she has a small role in ME2 so because of that i should ignore them trying shove liara down my throat in ME1 and ME3 and unlike liara Garrus can die in ME2 and you can choose to not recruit garrus in ME1 but liara she is forced on you.

Not sure why you are ignoring the other games just because she has a small role in ME2

And if you want you can cut garrus content in half by not recruiting him in ME1 and killing him in ME2 so liara can have more content then garrus.

This, it can't really be argued that Liara is the writer's pet when Team Dextro is on the squad in all three games. And Bioware always gives more content to the more popular characters, it is the same in Dragon Age and the most logical thing to do. Most people prefered to see more content of Liara or Garrus than of Jacob or Kaidan, that had nothing to do with being a "writer's pet".

Definitely. But this is pretty much the only problem with him. I personally wouldn't mind if Javik returned as a squadmate for Andromeda.

The one I hate is Jacob. Utterly boring, unfaithful to FemShep and the main reason I never got to romance Kasumi.

Javik would be more interesting if the Alliance found him and the beacon on Eden Prime in ME1. In ME2, for two years, Alliance been studying the pod learning how not to kill the living Prothean inside. In ME3, Cerberus tried to kidnap him and Shepard intervenes and subsequently awakening him.

You know, I'm really considering opening a bussiness to sell pills for sore throat. I'd get stinking rich of all the BSNers who got Liara shoved down theirs.

Not to mention all the extra income from selling petroleum jelly. So much butthurt going around :P
