As for the crew: Javik. I didn't like his personality or the way he treated the rest of my crew. Kaidan, Tali and Ashley were pretty forgettable characters and I found Garrus' forced friendship in ME2 and ME3 really irritating. I also disliked Traynor. Serves no purpose with both Liara and EDI on the ship. Joker in ME3.

How is she forced upon you? Guess she appears as a squad mate in ME1 & ME3, but may be avoided romantically.

you can't kill her without going out of your way to kill the rest of the galaxy with her and not until the end of the series, which is a travesty in the biower power fantasy. Every character should apparently be easily killable by the PC because Reasons.

I was rather indifferent to her, thought her ME1 presentation was way too heavily romance oriented, her later writing made her into a schizophrenic crime boss, and I didn't like being railroaded into being overly touchy feely BFFs in a few places (though she's far from the only or even the most egregious example of this in the series), but I don't fantasize about murdering her. Her overuse for cutscenes in ME3 was a symptom of them letting you kill everyone/everything else at your whims throughout the trilogy and potentially having hardly anyone left to fill the role of an old confidant.

People hate it when obvious favouritism exist for a singular character especially when other notable romanced characters received less attention. And not everyone is a fan of the fifty shades of blue.

Her "oh we've tampered with the krogan before and now we want to prevent you from getting the brute force you need to stall the reapers" number makes her look like an idiot.

If one wants to avoid Liara, or almost any NPC, it seems viable to do so. Personally, I like her more than some characters, but tire a bit of the Dorothy portrayal. I simply wish that one of het outfits improved her Barrier/ Shields, as she is fairly squishy in the latter section of the game (ie; ME3).

That said, the romance in ME1 did not seem forced to me, as I skipped all of them for Miranda in ME2 in my canonical playthrough. While I have used the Romance arc via Genesis 2 DLC, it seems far better than a couple of others (eg; combat vet turned schoolgirl Ash).

She is also the only person that is against the cure, meaning that the presentation of why the Genophage should be cured vs. why we shouldn't is unbelievably skewed. 

 

We don't get any logical counter points on why the cure would be a bad thing given the Krogan's history with the rest of the galaxy and their stubborn refusal to practice the most basic of population control on their own. We don't even get a rebuttal about how Wrex/Wreve is holding the galaxy hostage for this little stunt, that every day that passes millions of people are dying all over the galaxy, and for every hour we spend playing doctor the Turian armada is whittled down a little more, meaning less ships to spare for the united war effort. Ect. We don't get any of that.

 

All the pro Genophage side get is a shallow, 2 dimensional, xenophobic caricature of a Dlatrass who's only argument on why she doesn't want to cure the Genophage could be summed up with: "She hates the Krogan and loves seeing their dead babies". 

 

It would have been nice to have an actual dilemma regarding that choice; with points on both sides of the isle making clear and compelling reasons why the player should pick one way over the other instead of being a choice between a crazy racist and everyone else.

I liked Liara in ME1 when she the nerdy, awkward damsel in distress. She did in a personality 180 in ME2, so I was overjoyed to drop her for my first choice, Tali. I also hate Liara's ME2 and ME3 voice acting. It's too "I'm so cool."

What is with all super hate about Diana? Am I missing out something? I mean can't say I have any feelings about her, she has always been too unimportant for me to even bother talking with her, let alone get any strong feelings about her. So seriously why does everyone hate this girl so much? Does she do something in game that made so many people hate her or something?
