Well, hell. I didn't even know you could do that. Why did you hate her?I hated Liara T'soni so much that I sided with Benezia in Mass Effect 1 and had her killed by her own mother.

And I am genuinely surprised by the huge amount of hatred for Liara.
It's more like a hatred to the writing and the omnipresent role she's got, not the character per se. She had most of the content and importance throughout the series.
ME1 - one of the plot missions, forced 'mind penetration', possible romance lock due to the bug.
ME2 - Planetary mission hub leader, dedicated DLC with extra romance content and all that inevitable and forced friendly banters & hugs.
ME3 - joins squad on Mars, where she has yet-another-important-plot, has Thessia, insane banter-priority in most missions, 'time-capsule' dialogues, London good-bye scene that makes no f-ing sence outside the romance.
Not to mention 'off-screen' content like comics and that Vega anime (has her cameo). Had the galaxy ran out of archeologists and field agents of a sudden? Why would it be Liara, Liara, Liara and some more Liara? She's immortal no matter how you hate her, can't be killed in any way before the low-EMS Beam run.
Now compare it with Kaidan or Ashley, which can be killed twice (excluding the low-EMS Beam run), which only have Horizon scene and a letter in ME2, and are not avaliable in ME3 before the 2\3 of the game. And most of the characters have it even worse than that. Also, she's the only character that has 3 romance scenes, and does not wear the stupid bra during ME3 'pre-Chronos' sequence.
So, don't get me wrong, my femShep is normally friendly with her, but I cringe when yet-another explosion throws her directly into myShep's arms, and when all those puppy-eyes cut-scenes happen. I hope they won't squeeze her into MEA opening. She can't be responsible for all plots in the galaxy, can she?

I have to admit in the whole playthrough of all three games she was the first character i romanced mainly because for some reason i just fell in love with her, but it wasnt until ME 2 when i played it through and romanced Miranda (before the LotS DLC) that i kind of moved on almost, and then ME 3 when i had to choose between the two it freaking broke my heart which ever one i chose... and then i started romancing others in ME2/3 and then Liara pretty much (in Javik's words) "out the airlock"

All there movies I adore. Sure, there are some dated political stuff, but there charm and appeal hasn't aged a day.

Most hated? Kai Leng I would say, seemed to be just shoveled in because he was in a book. Also the characters i hate the most in bioware games are the ones that they force you to fight and lose to multiple times (or at least they run away and you can't do anything about it.....see Swiftrunner....see Tallis)

I hated that Liara was an information broker because we already had the Shadow Broker and anybody else would not be as interesting or cool. Plus there's another information broker on Omega. However, Liara did need LotSB because of the lack of explanation or exploration of her character shift. It also actually has an important moment where you can give Shepard some characterization, which was all too lacking. As an archaeologist, she also makes the most sense for the time capsule for the next cycle. Other than that, I agree that she was pushed to the front. She is the only character that is guaranteed to be alive until the very end of ME3, but that could be a chicken/egg situation.

I liked Udina and was upset BioWare caved into the temptation to, yes make him another ambitious sell out mook when there was the opportunity to flip the tables with him and make him a flawed sort who perhaps did the right thing at the end.

This is a pretty good choice. Even his personal quest which was set up show off some inner character on his part kind of fell flat. But the Prize!

It's because he started off by telling you that he really doesn't care and is just curious. He's already resolved the issues of losing his father. If he doesn't care, why should I? I actually like the mission in and of itself, but don't care about how it relates to Jacob.

Jealous?
I don't see how looking for a plot balance between the characters has anything to do with jealousy.
And before you asked - yes, I'm aware that there are always going to be 'more important' and 'less important' characters when it comes to the story (e.g. Alistair vs Zevran or Anders vs Aveline), but it does not mean that a character should be involved literally everywhere throughout the trilogy, with no option for not recruiting\dismissing.

I don't think that's necessarily true if that relationship is properly developed throughout the story. The problem with Liara is that they remove her for the entire second installment except a brief cameo, where she's an entirely different person than she was in the first game, and the DLC. So it's weird when she comes back in the third game and is so central, particularly when they really didn't do anything with her at Shadow broker status.I don't see how looking for a plot balance between the characters has anything to do with jealousy.

Hating a character just because she had more content than other characters can have quite a lot to do with jealousy. It sounds a lot like Timmy got more candy than me.

Learn to read first, would ya? It's not about 'hating the character', it's 'disliking the writer's pet thing'.
There's simply no reason for her to be all THAT important, people love characters because of their quality, not quantity. Legion is the last one to appear in ME2, he only has couple of hours, but he's arguably one of the best ME2 characters.
There IS too much of Liara in ME1-3(+side media), which IS annoying.

I still don't know what the point of LOTSB and making Liara the SB was. I'll chalk it up to BW winging it and "it sounded cool at the time".
