I also hate gifs and memes.

why are you online? doubly so on a gaming site forum. gifs and memes are the normal. that and mildly insane people. also Liara comes across as a creeper and too much of a writer's pet.

You must be one of them

Hating a character just because she had more content than other characters can have quite a lot to do with jealousy. It sounds a lot like Timmy got more candy than me.

It's "Billy's got more toys than me!"

"Who's Billy?"

"I don't know, but he's got more toys than me!"

I still don't know what the point of LOTSB and making Liara the SB was. I'll chalk it up to BW winging it and "it sounded cool at the time".

Well it "worked" with how they changed Liara for your initial meeting in ME2. She was a super obsessive information broker and either somebody took over or the whole operation would collapse. They just did nothing with it later.

Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean, Montgomery Clift and Marlon Brando for me

All there movies I adore. Sure, there are some dated political stuff, but there charm and appeal hasn't aged a day.

Okay well i don't know if my father liked those two ladies for their acting capabilities i think my father liked those two ladies more of how they looked like. But i will ask him if he visits us here and if i recall correctly he said that he thinks that Grace Kelly is the most beautiful woman he ever saw in his life and Audrey Hepburn was the second most beautiful woman on this planet. But as i said i'm not 100% sure about that either.

And i will ask him that as well.

He was probably using some sort of mod.  Personally I have grown to hate the Liara haters myself.  There is no good reason to hate her.

You mean aside from the fact that she's a Mary Sue and we're forced to be her bestie?

What about Garrus?  I thought we were his bestie as well?

*shrug*  Look, you can share these opinions all you want to, but tossing around words like bestie are all relative and if you don't wanna play them, then don't.  Simple as that.

There is plenty of reason to dislike Liara, she's weird, creepy, a stalker, and also shoved down the players throat.  It's very fun to tell her off in the first game, wish you had the chance to do the same in 2-3.

In all honesty though, I dont really mind her too much. There are much more bland characters than her, like Jacob and Kaidan.

I don't think that's necessarily true if that relationship is properly developed throughout the story. The problem with Liara is that they remove her for the entire second installment except a brief cameo, where she's an entirely different person than she was in the first game, and the DLC. So it's weird when she comes back in the third game and is so central, particularly when they really didn't do anything with her at Shadow broker status.

I think the writers were scrambling for some way to introduce the deus ex machina they knew they were going to need in ME3. Since the concept of the Shadow Broker was already established in-universe, they decided to use it. That Hackett was supporting her research efforts also meant that the Alliance was at least making some effort toward stopping the reapers.

Learn to read first, would ya? It's not about 'hating the character', it's 'disliking the writer's pet thing'.

My reading comprehension is well above average, thanks. I just don't see the distinction you're trying to make.

There's simply no reason for her to be all THAT important,

I don't see her as being any more "important" than any other character that fulfilled a particular role (or roles) in the plotline.

people love characters because of their quality, not quantity. Legion is the last one to appear in ME2, he only has couple of hours, but he's arguably one of the best ME2 characters.

That's subjective.

My most hated squadmate is Miranda.  Not sure who my most hated overall NPC is though.

Actually, you can ignore Garrus and he won't treat you as his bestie. But that's not true with Liara.

Ever get annoyed when people argue with other people just over an opinion? I mean cmon guys, why does everyone need to get so angry and annoyed at someone just for having an opinion, we're all adults here, freaking grow up. Yes people have different opinions but just stop having a go just because someones opinion is different. And i'm gonna stop typing opinion now because I've typed it enough now and it's pissing me off lol

But it always looks like their "opinion" is a result of simple misunderstanding of the facts, is not it? :) Hence, everyone tries to explain the real situation to "misinformed" :)

The more Bioware define him for me, the more i hate Shepard and not on principle but because Bioware's idea of what makes a person good and heroic is backwards at times and they end up creating insufferable mary-sue like characters.

This is a hard question.

I had a love hate relationship with Kaidan in ME3, hated Kai Leng and the annoying reporters, except the Asian one from the first game (I don't remember her name) and not very fond of Ashley.

Emily Wong. Kai Leng should have been used to his full potential. And he should have ate Shepard's cereal.

Who do you hate, or just dislike the most, in the Mass Effect series?

It could be anyone, hero, ally, villain or even a random NPC.

Liara.

Kaidan Alenko

I have played ME1-3 more than 10 times, I'm sure and Kaidan survive Virmire twice and I've never actually completed a playthrough where he lives because I miss Ashley .

I disappoint a few of my friends behind this lol

I always saw Shepard as a very boring character.

Mass Effect is full or well written characters like Javik,Mordin,Wrex,Jack and even some other cool characters like Garrus,Tali and Thane.

But Shepard? He/she is just another cheesy space hero,or another wannabe anti-hero.The character is just not special in anything...

But he/she was you. You called the shot you made the choices. The character had plenty of personality at least to me. What do you want to see more from the protag?

Liara. She was a creepy, clingy Mary Sue who was -very obviosuly- favorited by the developers of the game. That character was a complete fail from a design and gameplay perspective.

Nah, Shepard wasn't me, only a handful of times I could choose what I actually wanted to say, most of the times I could only choose the lesser evil in conversations and I still facepalmed every ten minutes. A game where I feel like the protagonist really represents me isn't something I see happening in the near future. People are individual, it would take an extremely flexible sophisticated system with an extraordinary amount of content and possibilities to make this happening.

For me at least.

I have a unpopular dislike for thane.
His statement that almost everytime it isnt his responsibility when he kills someone is just strange.
Erverytime its his client. Or he wasnt himself when he goes on a campaign for revenge thts lasting for years.
His willingness to start terminallyill a new realationship feels always repugnant and unfaithful.

I like Thane, but I did wish Shepard had more dialogue critical of that Drell religious philosophy. It reminded me of real world extremists who kill, but don't view themselves as murderers, because their God supposedly told them to kill.

Whatever, dude.

Thane whooped some Kai Leng @$$.

I felt that when he charges Leng shooting his gun was to weird, why? I mean charging? with a pistol? against some ninja dude with a big arse sword and a mess of shielding, that imho was silly
