Clearly.

Which was only a few thousand years back, and yet the genetic ability has spread through the majority of the world's population. The timescale is the mystery. A little searching will find several research papers attacking the problem, but with no clear solution as yet.

You got me curious about the timescale, so I've done a quick research and apparently it seems that it is consistent with the spread of the practise of dairying and pastoralism. Also, there are several genetic variants that confer this trait that have originated in different times and locations. In addition, it also seems that at least the, let's call it, "european variant" has appeared more than once. So we have convergent evolution with a great selective advantage, throw in migrations, conquests, colonialism and it doesn't seem so mysterious to me. I'm not an expert on the field, so I'm problbly oversimplifying it, though. They also claim it would be among the strongest selection signals observed in the human genome, so sth similar seems to have occurred in other cases. In any case, it is very interesting.

Beluga, Chopin .

Pat Bateman would be one to have have exquisite taste. The other two aren't bad either.

Stoli is ok, but I'd pick Finlandia over it every time. (And not just for patriotic reasons, either.)

Stoli is pretty meh TBH. I honestly can't tell the difference between it and Smirnoff except it pretentiously name drops Russia on the bottle for authenticity or whatever (even though it is made in Latvia IIRC) while Smirnoff accepts the fact it is made primarily for American college sorority girls to mix with shitty cranberry juice.

I picked up like 4 bottles of Finlandia for like $10 each on a cruise once. Aika hyvä  :D

Both of you should try Jewel of Russia if you can ever find (and afford) it. For inexpensive options, I find it hard to beat Tovaritch though it is fairly difficult to find. Luksusowa is a great budget option that can be picked up almost anywhere if you aren't a сучка (is potato based so hits pretty hard, but not in a bad way. Pretty sweet actually).

Smirnoff makes some great flavored varieties that you can drink straight, if you've got quads of steel

Only one flavoured vodka is acceptable

Spoiler

all others were punishable by death in the (Russian) Empire.

LOL

Vodka tastes bad. White Rum is better.

I think I've done 200 waves with every soldier except the quarian because he sucks.

oh look more babbies who need to fite me IRL.

Bring your best swill and lesser life form to the thunderdome and prepare yourselves to get dunked on by wasted quarksman (it actually makes his aim even more deadly).

A whole day for you to catch that, I am disappoint, I expected better from you. Role play aside I still find him disappointing and this is from a guy who only plays soldiers.

Boost shields to 1050 of other Male Quarians, swap out Sabotage for Arc Grenades.... He would instantly be one of my most played characters.

There's a few on this board I'd drop a pint with. Not really into the hard stuff, although my landlord gave me some awesome gin, Hendricks, the other night when we had some beers. I'm more a microbrew kinda guy. My hard liquor days basically started with Ouzo and ended with Glenfiddich.

I don't drink, so I wouldn't "drop a pint" with any of the people here. But there is select few I would have a coffee with.

First time poking thru this thread. I can't believe what some posters are saying about Vodka on here. Patrick already listed the best readily common Vodkas, ofc they cost double (where I am) from the large pool of low quality Vodkas.

Smirnoff is the lowest quality Vodka which is readily used anywhere. it falls below other low brow Vodka. the stuff is complete crap. Any alcohol which leaves a burn like that after drinking is pure garbage.

Every restaurant and bar where I am from carry a quality premium Vodka, but you have to ask for it. Belvedere and Grey Goose (yum) are the most common. OFC if you don't ask they give you Smirnoff.

I am a hard alcohol snob (after years of not being one) and am willing to pay more to get good quality stuff considering the overall quality difference between the crap and high end products available.

Right now I'm into the Patron Gold Tequilla and always the Grey Goose (or other high end Vodka). If for some reason I am going budget on the alcohol, then I find Stolnaya (spelt wrong) to be the best of the herd.

Edit: On topic, I'm not sure I have ever deployed the Volus Merc

I can't believe nobody mentioning Polish vodka. And those who insist on aromatic stuff can just try Zubrowka.

Definitely Arktinen, beyond that, I'd have to think long and hard about it.

Snort. "Russian" Scientist. I made that mistake 12 years ago on a business dinner in Kiev. Tip to all people visting any country around Russia - don't bring up that topic of the origins of Vodka until áfter everybody is stoned.

I never bothered with much challenges. I've got about half the banners most of which were unintentional. The 200 wave one isn't difficult. In fact none of them are. They're just grindy

... Sigh of relief ... It would probably not be wrong to have an analogy to compare it with : "which is the best brand of IPA?". The best one's are seldom sold in hecto litres-> it's like discovering a small jewel in your back garden. Or?

PS. I discovered still a few characters with which i have to finish 200 waves: shaman, krogan sentinel, volus protector. Mea culpa mea maxima culpa.

Shaman is fun if you spec him for Barrier damage. Run into spawns, detonate Barrier, clean up with weapon, repeat. On some maps you'll outscore even TGIs, AIUs and similiar kits. ^^

Honestly I haven't been on Xbox since August last year and probably won't be coming back for a long time to come as I'm on PS4 now. I did do remember doing a cleaning of inactive friends before I quit Xbox sorry about that ^_^
