I've looked all over and can't seem to find an answer.  I just purchased DA:O and installed it yesterday, and am having some problems.

In fullscreen mode the cursor disappears.  I am not using anything special, just an insignia wired USB mouse on a laptop running Windows 8.1.

In windowed mode I have the cursor, but the bottom of the screen is cut off, so I cannot read all the dialog choices or use anything on my quick bar.

About a year ago I played the game off my room mates disc and had no problems playing in windowed mode on this same laptop, so I am not sure what is different about the DLC.

I know this does not belong here, but I've never had luck in the tech section with anything I've posted before.  Please tell me what I need to do to fix this!  Thanks,

Hi,

It sounds like maybe a settings problem. Did you try launching the game.. on the first screen, there is an option for configure. Mine is set to this. It may be also, your windows settings have to do with if your mouse pointer is visible or not? I would have to check the game settings again.

Do you use mouse trails?
Go to control panel > mouse options & if display pointer trails is checked, uncheck it.

I do not use mouse trails, it is just the standard white mouse, whatever the default setting is.

I've seen several people talk about that config on the launcher, but I do not get that screen at all.  When I click on the desktop icon it brings be right into a window where it shows the red dragon animation, then to a loading screen with the option to change settings.  The strange thing is, NOWHERE in the settings is there an option for turning full screen on and off.  My video settings screen looks nothing like the one above.

In you dragonage directory go to bin_ship, there should be a DAOriginsConfig.exe

Check your shortcut to the game and make sure it points to the launcher and not daorigins.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age\DAOriginsLauncher.exe"

OR you can edit your DragonAge.ini file located in documents (mine is here C:\Users\Me\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings

w00t!  I found that config box and the full screen button.  However, the mouse still disappears in full screen mode.  I found a resolution in windowed mode where I can see the entire screen, but it is really small.  I'll just have to deal with it, I guess.  Thanks!

Other things that can cause you to loose your mouse in full screen.
If you have set the font size on your desktop to 150% or more, try setting it back to 100% or 125%.

Some laptops do it after coming out of sleep or hibernate, try rebooting & seeing if it persists.

If in window mode it is too small, you need to look into the scaling options in your GPU control panel.
