All clearly defined statutes in our legal system.

Define "our", because there are still countries in 2015 that, just to use an example, don't recognize that men can be rape victims. Clearly some areas are more advanced in this regard than others.

I would also contest "all clearly defined", but that's a different story.

According to the law of several countries, including the United States and United Kingdom, deceiving someone in order to sleep with them is raping them. You can disagree all you like, but that's the law.

Actually it's not US Law. There's a couple narrow laws about it and refers to someone impersonating a husband or boyfriend (as in the dark). Doesn't apply to anything else I wrote about. Deception is very narrow. Not knowing the game you speak of I can't compare it to the law.

Not every western country still has an offence of "rape". Canada does not, for example. We have sexual assault, which includes a broad range of conduct and drops the idea of penetration as a necessary element.

This being where e.g. failing to disclose your STD status may count as sexual assault. But I'm not a criminal lawyer, so this is all theory.

In fictionland, the idea of that happening is still often treated as a joke. Which is odious.

GTA5 treated it as a joke constantly. It was epic disturbing that people actually seemed to like that character so that crap will probably continue into the next game. I so much preferred by GTA characters when they killed out of necessity on the job or during a heist but didn't torture, rape, kill for fun.

I assume they wanted to give the the player the ability to do the really unhinged GTA stuff without breaking character.

I've played each game since GTA3 (because I like sandboxes) butGTA5 was actually the first GTA game I've ever completed the storyline for, and I think I still spent more time dirt biking in the mountains than anything else. As far as those games go, I enjoy Saints Row a lot more. It doesn't make me feel like a bad person, even when I'm destroying a car with a giant purple sex toy.

5 was the first since 3 that I didn't complete. I believe how they treated that character and his actions offensive enough it wasn't for me. If they go the same route on future games they lost a sale.
