I loved the crafting of armour and weapons, would like to see that expanded to include belts, rings and amulets ...

I want to see a dialogue movie reference in the next game. I'm assuming for Solas to do his doomsday plot he'll require another orb or similar object to do so. Could of sworn I saw a 2nd orb somewhere.

This would only be for an elven protagonist whether it be the inquisitor or not. But I'd like to see the elven hero about to destroy the object when Solas tries to convince him to stop, only for the elven hero to have a dialogue option of saying along the lines of "the ancient elves had their chance" then proceeds to destroy said object.

I loved getting multiple backgrounds/races again, it adds immense replay value for me and makes me care far more for my characters when I have this choice. I hope they continue and go even further by adding origins, but even if they don't add origins I hope they add a real beginning. Both DA2 and DAI start in medias res, after everything's already gone to ****(after lothering's been attacked/after the sky's been ripped open), unlike Origins there was no opportunity to establish who your character was or what they thought/wanted beforehand. I think this really hurt immersion, at least for me.

The visuals really stepped up in this game, from environments to faces, but they need to improve hair quality and style(we spend a lot of time staring at peoples head so hair does matter) and make sure said environments have interesting sidequests to do in them. If they go with a semi open world again then each major area should have an area main quest ala SWTOR world main quests.

Speaking of quests they tend to be more immersive and interesting when they involve cinematic conversations rather than stationary mid distance camera. Same for non quest related conversations really, there's a lot of great dialogue in this game which would have nonetheless been greater with cinematics, or atleast a zoom in button.

I thought crafting armour and arms was great, but I think it would be greater if the stats were based entirely on materials instead of having a limited bonuses on schematics, that way you can pick the one you like the look of best, not the one that allows the highest stats.

I think specialisations should have more relevant quests than 'fetch this many things' or have no quests at all and be gotten from friendly npcs like how you get bard and duelist from Leliana and Isabela in origins.

The companions were great, I loved how iron bulls personal quest effected whether her betrayed you or not in trespasser, that was amazing and I hope to see more of that kind of thing. That is to say, companion story decisions proving important later.

Companion interaction for a couple of reasons:

1.  They're getting better at your LI reacting to the world around you.  On the balcony after Wicked Hearts, hugging you after you kill Cory, and sneaking away with you after the banquet were all really good touches.  We need more.

2.  Conversations.  I love how they're spaced out.  I actually use this to determine when it's time to move the main story plot along.  When Cullen runs out of things to say to me, it's time for the next step.  Seriously though, this added so much depth to all of the companions because we learned more and more about them as the game progressed.

Off the top of my head ...

1. Exploration. While the balance between wilderness areas and story could use some work, DAI is the first BioWare game with a signifcant exploration element since the first Baldur's Gate game, and I'd hate to see them abandon it again. Crestwood and the Frostback Basin both nail the intergration of the side quests - more areas like that for DA4, please.

2. Race selection! Which we also had in DAO, of course. Hope we have all four races available in DA4 and beyond.

3. After three games, DAI finally has an art style that really works. I don't think they need to redesign much for DA4. Just make it look even prettier in the next version of Frostbite. (I guess they could do something about the hair, but I'd be lying if I said I really cared about it myself. It clearly bothers a lot of other people, though.)

4. I love having mounts to ride. Now if the game would just let me name them ...

5. Focus abilities are neat. Hope those come back. Ditto the perks system. (Would be nice if there weren't so many perks that are basically useless, though. It took me a couple of runs to figure out which ones I needed.)

6. While the interface could use work, crafting is generally good. Definitely an area where I'd like to see them improve and refine the existing system rather than starting from scratch.

7. Inquisition has the best version of the BioWare dialogue wheel yet. The paraphrases are generally clear and concise, we get a good number of opportunities to express feelings and there are plenty of interesting options added by perks, class or the characters in the party. More racial options would be nice, though.

8. While I intially hated the idea of concealing companion approval, it's actually great. It's always nice when a character ends up unexpectedly liking you. Or unexpectedly hating you, since it offers more opportunities for Solas-punching. (I like Solas and think he's a wonderful character. A wonderful character that I want to punch in the face all of the time.)

9. Dragon fights are really good now. Definitely something to further develop and expand on in the next installment.

10. Something that wasn't in the game that I'd like to stay gone: unlimited healing. As someone who carted around 99 healing potions of all types in DAO, it was nice to actually have to think about how to deploy healing strategically and when to head back to camp.

What I really want to see:

1. Tactics system from DAO/DA2.

2. Origins storylines. Since we'll be heading to Teviner/Quanari, it would be best how the PC would live or function in their given backgrounds.

3. Actual consequences from the Keep.

4. Freedom of choice (like in DAO).
