Please don't quote me some guy that you and me perfectly know hasn't played the game as much as we(if he has played it at all, that is)and is doing this only for clickbait for his poor career.A guy that is competent in everything is not competent in anything.

I think you probably didn't see his reviews for ME1, ME2 and ME3.

It's always best to leave some stuff open than spell out everything. Gotta use a bit of common sense.

What common sense would explain why Shepard has to fire at the tube while walking towards it?

That's just how they designed that scene. Maybe you guys should ask them on Twitter or something? Take all these questions you have and send them over to Mike Gamble or someone who worked on the game. I'm sure they would be able to answer them for you.

So?I am supposed to believe he knows and feels better than me just because he makes videos or what?

The point is he is a fan just like anybody else here and he states some pretty obvious reasons why people didn't like the endings. If you want to go even further in depth, then check out Angry Joe or many many other YouTubers videos. Most of us here have already discussed them ad infinitum ad nauseum. It's been over three years. I could sit here and make a bullet list of everything I think is wrong with the entire game, not just the endings; but we're all pretty much done with that now. Hey, glad you loved it.

Again, why must I assume that this guy or angry joe or any other youtuber knows and feels better than me?

Nobody said they know or feel better than anyone else. It's all opinion anyway. They break down a lot of people's problems with the endings. Which a lot of people *here* are done discussing and aren't going to engage with you about them.

I didn't made this thread for popularity.I finished the game and very very much liked the ending so I am posting my thoughts.Whoever wants to engage,he/she is welcome, whoever doesn't...well,he/she is,again, welcome. To be honest,I am glad so many people expressed their thoughts for such a short time.

The thing is,however, that I really hate people quoting youtube "celebrities" and taking their opinions for granted as if they are the speakers of mankind!Because,I am perfectly aware they are doing it for clickbait and they only care about having more views, likes and this way, more money!I can guarantee 95% that they are not as hardcore fans as they present themselves to be because their priority is far different than mine and yours!

I am absolutely sure you,for example, know much more and care much more about the Mass Effect universe than ANY of those youtubers!

How big a fan someone is shouldn't matter nor should how many views they're trying to garnrer. The argument should matter.

There's a big difference between posting an argument once, like Jeremy's, Forbes, GameFront, etc, and spamming it for almost 4 years until someone comes by and fixes these issues according to what those articles see wrong with the ending.

The first group is one with a general concern and should be considered. The second group is just wanting to be paid attention to.

I thought one of the benefits to IT was that the Reapers, then, wouldn't need an explanation. You wake up, the Reapers are defeated some other way, and all that remains is blessed mystery and the knowledge that you beat their insidious trap.

And the cycles were just something silly and irrational that the Reapers were doing because reasons, and we don't care about the reasons anymore because they're dead... yeah, this could have worked for a lot of us. Since you'd have to swallow a whole bunch of stupidity for the Reapers to lose the war at that point anyway, the senselessness of their whole plan would have been lost in the shuffle.

Something like that. Maybe throw in a nice lampshade.

What common sense would explain why Shepard has to fire at the tube while walking towards it?

Or why Shepard was shooting at the tube in the first place. Nobody told him to shoot at the tube. Unless, Shepard saw that image the player saw as well -- although that would leave the question why the Catalyst only decided to telepathically(?) convey that message.

Shepard shoots the tube, because you as a player pushed the button to make him shoot the tube (mouse button, or whatever the console equivalent is).

If you try to shoot it from 50 feet away (far end of ramp) it is not close enough to trigger the cutscene where the Crucible fires. You need to be around 5 feet from it.

Again, this is just how they designed this scene. Ask their gameplay or level designer why this is.

I always found it symbolic. You are "destroying" the tube, thus it's the destroy option.

Imagine in a movie if two characters in a casual conversation were yelling across a hallway. You would never say, "ask the director why he chose to block the characters like that". It would just be weird way to set up a scene. Same thing here. Shepard as a character has no reason to start shooting volitile fuel lines to activate complex machinery, unless he was told to. Gameplay and story aren't oil and water, they should be used together.

Yes, and you told Shepard to shoot that tube by clicking your mouse or pushing a button on your controller. Depending on what platform you use.

To make it all work, the code in the game (Kismet under Unreal Engine), triggers it all.

The Catalyst doesn't tell you to shoot the tube. The player controlling Shepard (aka. you) orders Shepard to shoot the tube.

All he tells you how the energy is dispersed when you shoot the tube though, and what effect it will have on the galaxy.

The tube breaks causing an explosion and a huge release of energy by the Crucible which fires at all the mass relays and destroying the Reapers.

Same here :) And I also see Control as symbolic, grabbing the handle to take over.

That is why you can't understand Shepard walking toward the tubes while shooting at it.

Because he was already aware he was as good as dead. Was armed with only a pistol and wanted to make damn sure the Reapers were destroyed.

Save it for someone else. I see nothing symbolic at all. If that's a problem for you, deal with it.

He? Mine was a she. And she wasn't aware she was good as dead. Sounds like your Shepard is a wimp.
