I bought this weapon to see why it was so expensive... And I can't figure out exactly what it does. I'm also too lazy to actually test it out, so I'm counting on someone having done that already 

 

I noticed it puts some tentacles on enemies; those seem to pull enemies together sometimes, but that might just be pull of the abyss triggering on someone's weapon. Also, I've noticed some poison damage numbers popping up that I can't account for - may those be from the Clasping Maw?

It's a new effect called Evil Eye? Don't know myself, haven't tried it.

Idk The Clasping Maw reminds me of Soul Edge from Soul Calibour.

I experimented with this a little. It seems to create tentacles that wrap up your foes, causing them to be weakened, poisoned and slowed. It's neat visually.
