AJA I don't use Pull at all, so the full 6 Fitness makes it easier to play her without Cyclonics for sure.

CSMG with Warp Ammo IV.

(or Talon if you want to be more stylish and don't mind hitting ammo boxes)

Reave all of the things, shoot shoot, Sphere for Biotic Explosion, shoot shoot, Reave, etc.

You do owe it to yourself to experience Power Amp IV + Reave. It's a *lot* of damage when stacked.

I do like the utility of Pull when dealing with Husks, Cannibals, and Abominations.  It does also seem to compliment the Hurricane at range, as the Hurricane has low accuracy at long range, Pull+Reave is a long-range option to supplement that.  Switching to the CSMG would eliminate the need for Pull at Range, but I wonder how much of a DPS loss it would be in CQC compared to the Hurricane.  Currently I make a joke of Primes, Scions, and Praetorians, and would hate to give that up for some ranged accuracy.

Talon maybe acceptable option.  Never use Acolyte anyway.  Will try some experiments.

Sometimes I actually use the Disciple on her and sometimes I don't even regret it after the match... sometimes.

That being said the Talon with a Power Amp is what I typically use on her(And every other caster), beefs up the Reaves a bit and keeps your damage output high enough.

I tried speccing Pull once.

I forgot to use it the entire match.

I specced out of it.

That's my story.

Since this seems to have become a Justicar thread....

I love the Justicar, she's one of my go-to characters for platinum, however, I do have a few questions....

Rank 5 of Reave, DR or Recharge Speed? Since it is primarily used offensively (prime/detonate/dot), is it worth going for recharge speed?

I run full fitness, full pull, no passive, as most of my damage relies on biotic explosions, and have light guns for +200% recharge.

Would it be worth switching to 4 pull/passive for a heavier loadout and slightly more Reave dot?

Could try going DR, no Pull, all Weapons Passives, and playing her CQC with an offensive warp bubble build for a bit of a change from that. (Which is basically how I run her with the Disciple)

Already ran that build for a LONG Time, tore things up, only got grabbed twice, surprisingly. So much fun. I still run warp bubble, just have more tools now.

TL; DR for all Justicar threads:

Every combination of Reave evolutions is viable because Reave is ****** awesome.

= = =

Side note to SalInfMR: I don't think there are enough Pull-able enemies on Platinum to make it worth using, but 3 points in it (sacrificing 6th rank of Fitness or passives) might work.

3 points in Pull for 10% weapon damage is, well. I disagree.

That being said... a fair argument could be made for the trade in Fitness for the utility. I still personally wouldn't do it, but I appreciate the trade.

Now here's a question, has anyone ran a Melee Justicar Build and made it work on Platinum?

DR, she really need it for Platinum - that way you can use a Power amp IV instead of a Cyclonic. I never put a single point into pull as I consider all other Powers and passives to be way more valuable.

Don't Think that will work, her Health and barrier are just way to small for that even with DR from Reave she goes down very easily.

Short answer yes. Long answer no.

Cycle Flamer and Carnage so you're getting Fire Explosions consistently. Really just tap Flamer for a second for the prime, then shut it off for the fast cooldown. IF it's on Armor/Health, Carnage for the Exp. If it's not, fire your weapon, repeat.

Take Incendiary Ammo and you can detonate lesser explosions off your ammo primes with Carnage, although you might overwrite your Flamer primes sometimes if you're not careful. (Doesn't matter that much) I use a Talon with power amp.

Tried this one on gold (second match I ever played with the Vorcha Soldier) with Power efficiency (I've discovered I also have a shortage of power amps  ) and hurrdurricane (I wish I had the talon, I loved it on SP). Did amazingly well  :D . Plat probably tomorrow!

Vorcha Soldier is one of those black sheep characters that work best doing something their base class isn't known for. He is classed as a Soldier, but is an excellent Engineer with Fire Explosions galore. Which I find funny, because I find his Engineer counter-part is a pretty good Soldier! I run a CSMG on him, absolutely destroys armour, not as good as the KroSol (Who is, imho, the most powerful anti-armour character in the game, biotic boomers and warp cheesers included). He would probably work even better with an Acolyte/Hurricane combo (but then, what wouldn't?).

(Yes, I know that Carnage is a Combat Power, not a Tech Power, but it IS a Tech Detonator)

Well, I'm definitely (and pleasantly) surprised with how well the whole flamer-carnage FE style works. Since I read in some thread that the GT's flamer was more powerful than both vorcha's flamer I hadn't used them. About the Hunter, I really like him, but I've been using him to get weapons challenges done so I haven't really found a weapon/s that fits him well. The CSMG I have at level 1, so I don't use it much (I will though).

btw, aren't inferno nades glitched too (with incendiary ammo a la warp)?

Yes, they are working as intended.

I like the Lancer on the Hunter (Vorcha Engineer), but I like the Lancer on EVERYTHING. Saber is also a good choice, but I like the Saber on EVERYTHING. Claymore could also be good, but the Claymore is good on EVERYTHING.

Saber and Lancer are good for Hybrid characters, Lancer is good for any character, and Claymore hits like.... the Claymore. All good choices. Just take Incendiary Ammo and detonate with Incinerate.

On platinum I like the adrenaline module especially on the Salarian and Drell infiltrators, or the Batarian soldier or Turian infiltrator with grenade capacity.

I have some l2p improvements to make though. Without cyclonics I find myself getting hit too often or overwhelmed on weaker builds.

Liked for Adrenaline Module BatSol, he's so freaking awesome like that.

My justicar adept with a power amp mod benefited from a falcon against the phantoms. With 7 seconds of reave, the extra weight of a falcon and collector SMG doesn't impact your ability to have reave always active.

cooldown on Reave for stacking it as often as possible.
and barrier / armor to benefit from the scaling damage instead of mediocre shield damage.

pull is good even on platinum.... but with an Acolyte I am afraid

There are several factors to be taken into consideration, such as skill level, inventory state, connection, gameplay style, map/faction and the most important: the team (if your team is good enough to make Platinum a DPS race, you rarely need Cyclonics anyway).

Let's assume things are overall pretty bad but one has unlocked at least the Reegar, Acolyte, Harrier and Black Widow. Some good no-Cyclonic characters in this case are the Juggernaut (Tank + Weapon Platform build); TGI, SI, AIU (little or no Fitness for these Infiltrators); and the Geth Trooper (Flamer build, you can consider running without Hunter Mode).

Drell and Vorcha make virtually no use of Cyclonics, so you can't really go wrong with them. However, they can be pretty squishy, the only kit among them I would recommend to a not so experienced player is the Drell Assassin.
There are several other characters that might be run without Cyclonics (rather a power amp or adrenaline mod) provided there is enough care and teamwork, such as: pretty much all Snipers, N7 Paladin, Batarian Soldier and Adept, Salarian Engineer, Turian Sentinel, Krogan Shaman, among others.

Fitnessless Human Engie, full shocking evos.

Fitnessless Infiltrators in general (except for Drell and Shadow for obvious reasons)

Fitnessless base low shield characters in general.

Try Adrenaline for substitution of cyclonics. Increase TTK. Increase awareness. Increase heart beat rate.

Or play Gold. It's more fun anyway.
