I felt as if the boss battles in Mass Effect was pretty much 'rinse and repeat.' Pop out of cover kill adds, focus boss, move from point-to-point, repeat.  Boss battles in ME1 was pretty pathetic.  ME2 and ME3, was a little better, some fights you've actually had some mechanics to it, but once you figure it out, it's pretty much easy.

Now, do you think in ME:A, we could get boss battles that are actually challenging, or do you think we're in for the same?

The two bosses I enjoyed were the Clone, and Tela Vasir. I hope to see more of this style.

While I can appreciate others people's love of big boss battles, I personally can't stand the concept of them. To me, nothing screams "You are playing a video game!" more than an overpowered boss fight. In my opinion, the Boss of any given enemy faction should be distinguished by personality and presence, not his/her ability to F s#!+ up.

I want boss battles to be like my experience raiding in WoW. I'm in a decent raiding guild. We can clear some heroic bosses, and maybe a mythic boss or two if everyone is on their "A" game.  I like the feeling of "banging my head against the wall," and the reward when I finally defeated the game.  I hope ME:A can give me that feeling.

I don't know about that the Saren one can be challenging but as long as they don't over extend the difficulty of them I don't think there's a problem maybe either maske the bosses like the Saren fight or the clone from ME3Citadel or Tela Vasir from Shadow Broker or maybe a fight similar in style like the Shadow broker himself.

You might but tbh I don't and I hope that Bioware don't do that tbh. I don't mind a tough fight but I have to feel it's a fight I can win otherwise I just lose interest in a game and stop playing.

I would prefer to face a boss that behaves in a completely different way than what we've seen so far.

A boss that can react to your fighting style and can respond in a more tactical way. I don't want a boss to behave like an average enemy grunt as they should have a special quirk which sets them apart from the rest.

For example, you could have a boss fight on a space station (but instead of fighting the boss in one room, you could have the entire station as the conflict zone). If the boss takes damage then they would have the opportunity to retreat to another area and recuperate or leave a trail of strategically placed mines/traps.

One of the interesting boss fights in the previous games (in my opinion) is Tela Vasir because there were many different elements involved such as; her escape, car chase, hostage and the final fight. So if they do keep to the same formula, I hope they will keep it up to the Vasir standard.

I'll toss in for the not a fan of boss battles as they are usually understood.

I don't like the bullet sponge types
I don't like the shoot them in a particular spot types
I don't like the they are immune to everything you spent the whole game using types
I don't like the DDR style mash a button to fight types
I don't like the suddenly magic powers they have that you haven't seen before or since types

I'd rather the boss be less intimidating and make the getting to him to be more challenging.

In true Bioware fashion they should make a bossfight that's entirely conversation.

I don't really require much more than a big fun battle with the final wave of the enemy faction. While the suicide mission was ultimately too easy, what I liked was that it was also a rescue mission. I'd love to be the hero saving captured allies or something.

Boss battles are a bad idea.  There shouldn't be any.

I thought Howe was a pretty good boss battle, because I enjoyed his part in the story, and his strength was primarily in that he was surrounded by friggin mages and such to back him up.

Technically already been done with The Illusive Man in ME3, but definitely an interesting concept deserving of a revisit.

And quitting the conversation ends in a... CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE

Not true! Sometimes they're simple sword sponges.

A boss battle should be a test of everything the game taught you through it's level design and mechanics.

But that's too videogamey and we aren't talking videogames here I guess.
