hello i was wondering if the DLC's in DA:O and DA2 will affect the story throughout the franchise, i have recently started playing it all over again (i have beaten DA:O and DA2 but a long time ago on a different system and these were without dlc played)

Awakening is very helpful because you get to meet Anders and Justice before they merged, so it sets up some of the backstory for that encounter.  Witch Hunt adds a bit to the Morrigan/Flemeth lore and there may also be some carryover into DAI depending on your choices.  DA2 - Legacy and Exiled Prince both introduce characters that show up in DAI as well.  However, I think all the DLCs are worth playing because they add depth to the overall story, particularly for DA2 where Legacy and Mark of the Assassin add character interactions and give some background info for Hawke's companions and family.

The DLC really doesn't change the game play no more then reading the DA books. The first PS3 DA:O  I owned didn't have the DLC and it played like any other RPG in my collection.

 

However.. The DLC and books does enhance the story line by giving more background information and therefore and IMHO the DLCs are worth playing and I recommend reading the DA books..

i think awakening was worth it because i have a thing for maxing out my avatar,

witch hunt was nothing for me, but it did add some really good equipment in my backpack in DA:O at game start.

but my favorite DLC was no doubt RtO, on PC the arcane warrior just dont work without king set

They do not affect the story in a direct way. But the give you tons of useful information which enhance your game experience for the whole DA series.
