I've come across this one too many times. It really bothers me and I want answers!....
Far too often have I seen people when discussing their campaigns refer to it as Paragon Shepard or Renegade Shepard. And then go on to describe how they played the entire game choosing single path. Why would you do that? It's borderline retarded to boil down game's complex characters/storyline into two opposite extremes. First of all, it ruins all immersion. 100% Paragon Shepard would be shot in the back by the first scumbag he showed mercy to, and 100% Renegade .... Well, let's just say he wouldn't be entrusted with a pair of geese let alone the galaxy's most advanced warship. Real people don't act like that. Second, It ruins all the fun. I mean here you are basically watching a 35 hour interactive movie with a fun bits of shootouts in between and what you do? Either Yell at everyone or Sing Kumbayas and dance around campfire. Most. Boring. Movie. EVER! Third, the Paragon/Renegade system is flawed beyond all recognition. I mean some of Renegade choices venture waaaaaay past the line of forceful, ruthless and calculating & well into the world of Adrian Veidt level of deluded psychopathy(and by this I mean the actual, medical definiton of the word). And Paragon?.... The stuff that comes out of that guys mouth, sometimes I wonder if Joker should aim the Normandy at black hole and step on the gas. Paragon is supposed to be Caring, humanistic and diplomatic, not childishly naive hippie.
So basically what I wanted to say is everytime you do one of your ~100% Renegade / ~100% Paragon Shepard you're ruining the everything that's good about the game...
