You're welcome.  It helps that my canon Warden is a longstanding OC of mine who's always had a soft spot for orphans.  He's also always been a Druid or the closest thing to it in every canon I've played him in, so he has no use for a sword - and refused to take the Arcane Warrior spec because he felt called to be a healer instead.

Someday I'll get around to writing fanfic about him.  (says the procrastinator as she's putting off a 3-page paper on property settlements in English divorce cases)

Ha ha. Lovely! :D (it should have been a thumbsup-smiley, with a huge grin, really)

Yeah I tend to do Redcliffe relatively early as well as I tend to do both Redcliffe and the mage tower together almost as one quest. The one I tend to hold back on is Orzammar as that's the big annoying quest for me.

Oh I missed this post completely.
I used to do it that way, too, but I have now started to do Orzammar first -almost to the end, in most playthroughs, due to

Spoiler

Because,  (and here I thought I was alone in that) I never really liked that part.

I think, however, it is because I can't stand the incredibly loud noise of the Darkspawn [I can't turn it down or off w/o turning the Master volume off] ...which is pretty ironic, considering that's what the game's main story is about. lol  But I don't like the Deep Roads (in DAO, I do like them better in DA2 -- and I do not have the DLC for that in DAI, so I wouldn't know). And also, it sure is a looong quest as a whole.

Yeah it is a long quest and especially hard if you'er a mage too as you can't really top up your lyrium much and have to rely on the veins. I can do it but that whole area is just not my favourite. I just find that whole section really hard so tend to wait till as late in the game as possible before doing it. Mostly to give myself a bnetter chance by levelling myself up moer and giving myself more abilities and that as I find that helps best when taking it on.

The descent DLC is good although chasllenging in places as you do get overwhelmed and use up a lot of potions in it. Managed better in my last playthrough which I found easier using ranged attackers mostly.. The best way I've found handle the final boss is with ranged attackers really I went with 2 mages 1 rogue 1 warrior last time out. Blackwall being the warrior myself and Viv the mages and Varric and it worked really well

Oh oh oh yes, goodness, as a mage! I haven't played as a mage in a while, I forgot.

I really am horrible with Sword and Shield, so Alistair always have to be the tank (to begin with) and I've played dual weilding lately (Rouge and Warrior).

And now you made me laugh (thanks!) because I just remembered my very first play through, and I had no idea what i was doing, trying to save people, having chosen to be a healer mage, and I failed - over and over again. Hahaha Same in Mass Effect, I remember it took me over 20 hours to finish my first (main) quest there, which was Feros (I did Liara last, and she had gone almost insane due to the waiting...I felt so bad!) Aah, what great memories you bring me, although I probably cursed a lot while doing it. I had no clue what I was doing.

Anyway, I felt Redcliff was too hard to save on a lower level, so that's how (I think) it started, if I recall correctly that is.

I always tend to play on the very easiest possible, and yet I sometimes find myself in too harsh conditions. lol

I haven't bought that DLC since I am a bit weary of the Deep Roads, but you sure make a strong case, especially knowing what you feel about the Orzammar quest. So now, I think I will try it out (when I can afford it, I just purchased the Trespasser - and do not know what will happen in that DLC. I have a clue, but not as a whole).

Thanks! :D

...and now we've gone way off topic... teehee, I sure hope noone is offended by that. It did bring back really great memories for me.

Not all of its elven features, but certainly the most distinctive ones - think DA2 Feynriel for instance.

No, because I'm going to think about Slim Couldry instead.

An elf blood can take after the elf parent a bit, but you can't count on it.  Alistair is after all, elf-blooded.

A good point, that.  Thanks for reminding me I was overgeneralizing a bit.
