Was looking over a wikia entry for upcoming titles for 2016 and the number of things I'd honestly say are day one must haves for myself are countable on one hand.

Going by this list https://en.wikipedia...g#Game_releases

I.) Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (kind of on the fence really cause they aren't releasing the ps3 version outside of Japan, and the PS4 version is port from the PS3.)

2.) Final Fantasy XV

3.) Persona 5

4.) Mass Effect: Andromeda (PC)

(I don't count handheld games as I would only be playing them on the road, or at work, not to mention them being generally inexpensive and thus not really day one must haves.)

What do you guys think? Outside of ME:A is 2016 a big gaming year for you? Mind you ME:A is supposed to drop at the end of the year which is hella far off but I don't see many titles holding my interest until it gets here.

Any year is a good year for a Mass Effect game.

Deus Ex

Quantum Break

Mirror's Edge

Unravel

Mass Effect Andromeda

Gears of War 4

WoW: Legion

That's a solid line-up. I can't wait for 2016.

I hate to say day one release for any game. If it's PC it's more likely as something about preloading a game helps. I hate buying a game and then having to wait hours to play.

But on that list there are at least a dozen titles I'll get for sure.

Zelda, ratchet and clank, uncharted 4, the ones in your list, dues ex, and a few others I can't remember. It seems like a solid year to me.

Personally I'd suggest you may want to try a wider range of games. You might be surprised how fun some of them are.

My heart says yes but my wallet says no. I'm just happy they hadn't gave it to us this year. Fallout 4 stole me and I need time for maxing MEA. :c

Damn, I can pop in a disc and it takes like.. 10-15 minutes to install on my XB1, and that's even while having background apps running (YouTube, Netflix, etc). But I store most of my games on an external 4TB WD drive.

Difference in downloading and disk based. My download speed is not awesome. But yes on my ps4 and wiU it's just pop in and play in minutes. When we get closer to gears of war 4 I may add xbox1 to that list.

Next year I basically plan to buy:

1)ME:A ofc :P

2)DeusEx

3)Mirror's Edge (this is a maybe though Solar Fields making the music for it is a GREAT plus in my book)

4)That damn Rise of Tomb Raider when it comes out for PS4.

Obviously DLCs purchases for 2015/2016 games aren't included.

Though I agree with OP they avoided Fallout4 which is the greatest contender. By the end of 2016 when ME:A will probably come out most of the people will be done with Fallout4

I'm pretty keen on getting to play Rise of the Tomb Raider at some point,  and XCOM 2 looks like it could be something special.

Five games worth looking at in 2016.

1. DOOM

2. Star Citizen

3. Deus Ex mankind Divided

4. Andromeda

5. Hearts of Iron IV

DOOM is a classic that originally sent shivers down my spine.

Star Citizen, is hopefully the next Wing Commander... loved the series

Hearts of Iron IV... WW2 simulation... should be better than III... also love this series

Deus Ex Mankind Divided... haven't played any of the games but is looking interesting.

Andromeda... Looking forward to this new series without Shep.

Absolutely no pre-orders.

Day-One: MEA, Uncharted 4, Dishonored 2, XCOM 2.

Also looking forward to Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, No Man's Sky, a lot more I'm forgetting at the moment.

2016's looking to be a better year than 2015 for me actually.

ME:Andromeda

Deus Ex

I see  Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen  for windows for januari 2016.  Anyone who played it here think this is a worthy buy?  Is it comparable with one of the 3 DA releases?

I played Dragon's Dogma on the Xbox a little bit. It's a pretty fun action game, if a little dense and overly "Capcom-y" for my taste. It has very little in common with Dragon Age on any level, though.

MEA is day one. I'm too psyched for Dishonored and Tomb Raider, as well, and Horizon looks awesome. Hopefully I'll snag a PS4 for it.

Gears and Mass Effect in the same year reminds me of 2011 again. Though we all know 1 was delayed.

Both my favourite games last gen so 2016 going to be fun.

Currently working my way through Rise of the Tomb Raider and it's quite possibly the best game in that franchise's history.

Really does feel like a perfect blend between the Core era and the grittier new direction.

After that I've got Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, and Telltale's GoT on tap.

Being a new parent, I'm a little behind on these things, but I figure I've got enough to last me until ME:A's release, at which point I'll be saving a little time off to settle back into the ME universe.

2016 is a light year for me:

1.  Street Figher V

2.  Mass Effect Andromeda

But I still have games from 2015 I want to play more of:

1.  Mortal Kombat X (DLC Characters)

2.  Until Dawn (Second playthrough)

3.  Fallout 4 (I'm 60-some hours in so who knows how many more I'll play)

4.  Witcher 3 (maybe....I'm about 1/3rd in but don't love this all that much)

This should get me through the next year until Detroit and CyberPunk 2077 come out.

1. Mass Effect: Andromeda

2. XCOM 2

3. Dishonored 2

Those last two are severely underrepresented here, I'd really recommend them.

Also, the more ME fans playing XCOM, the better the chance that someone will use XCOM 2's modding to make a Mass Effect mod...

Xcom2 I am really looking forward to. I never played dishonored so I don't have expectations one way or the other for it.

The first part of the year is kind of empty, March is really when the big games start to come out. Looking forward to Andromeda, Zelda Wii U, Horizon, FF XV, Mirror's Edge, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, and Ratchet and Clank. 2016 will be a good year.

I don't know what it says about me that the first thing I saw on that list that really jumped out at me was "Holy crap there's a new digimon game?! And it involves sleuthing?!"

Also the PS4 versions of Broforce and Darkest Dungeon have me intrigued.

Aside from that, Horizon: Zero Dawn, No Man's Sky, and The Last Guardian are the ones that have me sold and have since E3. I maintain that I am still not sold on MEA yet. Need to see a little more(i.e., actual gameplay footage) before I commit to that.
