So I ponied up and bought an Xbox One and the GOTY edition of Inquisition. Installed everything fine, went to play on Saturday, made my character, blah blah. Had to go to a birthday party so saved and quit.

Sunday rolls around and I'm eager to get back into my game. Load it up, hit continue...

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Jaws of Hakkon

Dragon Age: Inquisition - The Descent

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Trespasser

The Black Emporium

Spoils of the Avvar

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Spoils of the Qunari"

... So I uninstall all the dlcs and the game, and reinstall everything. Took, you know, two and a half hours so that was pretty cool. Load up my game fine and keep playing for a bit. Save and quit.

So yeah, am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall the DLCs EVERY SINGLE TIME I WANT TO PLAY THIS GOD DAMNED GAME?

(yes, I already posted this on the EA support forums, and a fat lot of good that did me.)

I'm on the XBox One like you. I don't own the GOTY edition, but I did download JoH, The Descent, The Black Emporium and Trespasser. I haven't had any issues with those DLCs like you're describing.

Might I suggest trying to call Customer Support?

I just got an XBox One a week ago and bought the GOTY edition of Inquisition and have downloaded all the DLC and have yet to have any problems like that. I certainly hope you get it sorted and when you do please post what had to be done to resolve it.

I'll admit to not knowing how it works on Xbox/PS since I'm on PC, but I'll ask my question anyway. When you've gone to play again have you been logged in to your account?

Well, that is the typical message you would get when you aren't connected to the internet so the game can verify your DLC ownership.   No need to reinstall it.   Just make sure you are logged into your account when you start the game up.

Its also possible their servers were down for some reason at that time.

Yep, Origins is giving me the same trouble on my 360. No internet connection -> Downloadable content is damaged, please download again. If I connect to Xbox Live I can start playing like normal.

It's weird that you should have to verify your DLC every time you start the game.

This is happening since.... I don't know... DA:O? ME1?

'bout time that they fix this and that DLC are always recognized after you have verified them the first time.

I thought they had fixed it, on PC anyway. I can run my games just fine even if I pull out the network adapter.

PC is a bit different, it does not need to read from the install disk or file location every time as a console does. We can move our installation files to any drive we wish and, the installed game on the hard drive is fine, doesn't know the difference. Consoles don't work that way, they read form the installation files and, put what is needed in memory as you play so, yes they would need to be connected to verify ownership each time they do that.

I realize this is a month-dead thread, but it was on the first page of results when I searched this problem on google, and thought it might help somebody else. (The EA support threads on the subject provided no solutions at all.).

I'm on PS4, and this exact same message came up for me (minus Trespasser, since I haven't installed it yet). I was getting upset because uninstalling and downloading all of that would take a significant amount of time with my internet speed. It took over 24 hours just for the base game to install and update, then the DLCs each took at least a couple of hours, and the add-ons a few more minutes. I just did all of that last week.

Anyway, I had to close the application completely, connect to internet, and then when I tried again it worked fine. While already in the game, I've disconnected with no problems. I assumed it had no effect on whether or not I could play with already installed content. Lesson learned.
