What's your opinion on the many clues as to Solas' character being based on the myth of the Greek god Prometheus?

Like Prometheus, Solas fought for the liberation of a mortal race by sharing divine knowledge with them. He tried to lead a revolution by empowering mortals and providing them the means to break their chains. In Greek mythology, mankind was suscetible to the will of the gods, who determined every aspect of life, including death and the post-mortem. The same happened to the Elves and the Evanuris.

Like Prometheus, Solas became known as the God of Rebellion and was symbolically punished, seeing the fruits of his efforts result in tragedy.

What are your thoughts on this?

Addendum

Like Prometheus, Solas was also a God and belonged to a divine Pantheon.

Much like Ridley Scott's film of the same name, that analogy doesn't work. (DO HO HO)

Prometheus sided with the Olympians in the war against his fellow Titans, then disobeyed the Olympian gods by giving man fire and was punished. Solas always stood opposed to the rest of the Evanuris and punished THEM for murdering Mythal.

Well, yes, they are similar, Prometheus was rather a Titan but he didn't had problem with the Olympic Gods, same Solas was able to walk with no fear among both Creators and Forgotten Ones.

This would indicate he's closer aligned to Loki than Prometheus.

Plus, you know, trickster

Prometheus gave fire to mortals and to their world,Solas deprived his kind and the world from the fade,Prometheus was punished by the gods,Solas punished the gods.

All in all i think that he is the antithesis of Prometheus

I think you're giving that knife-ear way too much credit.

The analogy doesn't work because Solas doesn't so much give fire as take it away, and his whole next plan involves, basically, immolating the entire world to bring fire back. There are a lot of parallels, but if anything, he's an inadvertent Prometheus.

Solas is more like Perseus than Prometheus, especially in Trespasser. Think about it, his special power from Mythal, the creator of the [Perseus] Veil, his affection for owls (Bubo)...even the snake creatures that sprang up from blood of Medusa could be represented by the mention of the Forgotten War in Descent and the lizard men. Weird huh, that Medusa is Mythal?

Solas shares with the enslaved elves an important piece of knowledge that was the foundation for his rebellion.

He tells them the gods are actually mortals. This is the Promethean fire (symbolic of divine knowledge) he shares with them. And that therefore, they should rebel against their oppressive rule.

He also shares further knowledge in order to empower the slaves and give them the means to resist and fight back. He leads the resistance for as long as he can, teaching his followers all he can to keep the rebellion going.

He doesn't get his punishment, unliike the Greek god. However, his leitmotif follows the same path: a rebellious god shares forbidden knowledge with mortals [the knowledge of how to create fire (Prometheus), the knowledge that the gods are mortal and can be destroyed (Solas)] in order to free them from the rule of the other gods.
