Could the Inquisitor have killed Solas then and there by...

...going kamikaze with their overloading Anchor? Seems to me that given it's origins, that particular piece of magic is one of the few things on Thedas capable of actually hurting Solas in his current state.

 

If yes, why didn't they?

No, because Solas has control over the anchor. He even uses it against an Inquisitor that tries to attack him.

It's possible that the Inquisitor could have purposely overloaded the anchor in order to suicide bomb Solas, but it's also possible that Solas could have suppressed the anchor as he did just moments before that.

 

As for why the Inquisitor didn't try, because BioWare wants Solas to be featured as a main antagonist in the future.

Solas is  too strong,even without the gap of the anchor the inquisitor would have lost
