I have finally decided to get around to playing the multiplayer on this title and I was wondering how active the community still is.

I haven't been very lucky with getting into matches with the quick match option and I have sat for very long periods of time in an empty lobby.  I can only assume that it is because the players left playing the game don't do the routine difficulty anymore.  How am I supposed to get to the point to where I will be able to participate in the higher difficulties? I have tried to go solo several times to try and garner some experience but it is a very painful trial no mater which class I take and it doesn't last long at all.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

GRIND GRIND GRIND.....   buy 2000g chests.   DO NOT waste your money on Platinum..... trust me.....unless you are rich of course.

Try using Arcane Warrior to build up your Willpower, Legionnaire to build up your Constitution and Silent Sister to build up your Cunning.

If you are in 4-group scenario the barrier classes will really help the group, Keeper, Elementalist, Virtuoso, Saaarebas.

Do the Experienced Mage/Warrior/Rogue challenges (1 million exp in each) for top tier armour.  You will still have to craft the first set of armour though to unlock characters.

Save your Cotton materials.....  for putting Heal on Kill on your weapons.....total game changer.  And if you can possibly help it, save cotton for upgrading level 20+ weapons.  Unless you have tons of it of course......

Equip healing potions, regen potions and a rock tonic can save you so many times.

also, this should help you

http://forum.bioware...-20-2015/page-1

Sometimes I find it better to start a match even if you are the only one in the lobby....then people join a few zones in.   PUGs tend to like in-progress games.

Are you on Playstation 4?   I can take you through a few games :)

I purchased the title for the PC.

I was already putzing about through that thread lol.

I only have access to the Legionnaire, Archer, Keeper and the Bard like caster.

I literally just started playing during the night.

Salvage the weapons you don't need to give you materials that will allow you to craft new armour to unlock characters.

and good luck.

Make sure you download and install all available MP DLC. If you are unsure you have done this, go to you Games tab in Origin, right click on Dragon Age Inquisition, and click View game content. Scroll down the next page a bit, and look for any multi player content that is not installed. Download/install; it is free.

What part of the world do you live? This game is region locked for quick matches. Some regions are much more active than others. Look for people you can add to your friend's list. Hope you get some good games in, and have fun! B)

It is most likely because you didn't download the Dragonslayer and Destruction DLCs.   They are free.  Without those you are going to sit in many many more empty lobbies... :)

EDIT: Darn it.. Coldie beats me by a couple of minutes.... :P

The matching system and server performance this last little while has been abysmal.  I think they need to do a server reset or something.  If you try a quick match and it sticks you as host leave the lobby and try again.

If you find while playing you can survive a wee bit on your own often the best way to get a team is to start a match solo if you are hosting, often you seem to get payers quicker in game than sitting in the lobby.  If I played on pc I would offer my gamer tag and help you out.  I encourage any of our pc players in this forum to offer to help you get going on a few games at least until you get your feet wet and get some better weapons and such.

I think I may have struck a nerve.

On topic: If you have the DLC and still can't find games in Routine, you might need to start searching for Threatening lobbies.  I'm not sure how active lower difficulties are nowadays, but people should have no problem carrying you through Threatening.

Threatening is very active on the PC.  OP, you could add me on your list, but you probably won't see me online for the next week or 2.  My laptop keyboard is broken and going back to Acer to fix... not sure how long it will take for it to come back *sob*.   I guess I will finally be able to finish watching Jessica Jones...

Just play Perilous / Nightmare regardless and be carried. People generally won't mind I think.

People probably won't mind, but if you are always just carried, you won't learn how to actually play the game especially if you are in the fade constantly.

If you are having trouble finding PuGs on Routine, try Threatening. I think it is the most active of all of the difficulties.

Please don't do this, if you just started playing the MP go for threatening so you can learn, if you go for perilous and nightmare you'll only get things harder for the others and get them annoyed.

And two other things, you can sprint on the MP pressing shift or the left stick and if for some reason you stick with a lvl 20 and try perilous, don't kick lvl 1s with high lvl banners, portraits and titles, let them show during a run if they can stay alive.

Yeah... that would do it. Surprised Acer let you RMA it due to the Panda damage.

Yup. If you Pug into lv1s on Peri / NM then 9 out of 10 they will top the score board.

Actually the DAMP community is still surprisingly active. Try on routine or threatening and attempt to work your way up to perilous.

Save all top level weps and gear you get (until you get something far superior), and save them from every category because you will ultimately wanna start playing other kits.

PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE. Basically never play as a lvl 20 as it wastes XP.

Thank you for the responses. I will try and move the difficulty up to threatening. I just didn't want to move up too fast before getting the hang of the game.

I have been pretty much only playing keeper to be a barrier bot with some CC until I get things for other classes.

yeah make it point to get threatening as your lowest regular runs

you will meet some people your stats and some way higher good place to send friend invites from

we all fall but people who fall less are preferred  and we all started where you are now

always remember at the beginning is to play the role of the character

Warriors-in the face  Mages and archers are back a bit, once you get more stats you will find you can do more

Keeper, run in barrier the group, frost step away

static cage and toss chain lightning at it  gets that burning smell of victory

and the Archer is run as close as you dare drop caltrops then leaping shot back and keep shooting

as they run over the caltrops and bleed out.

Stand behind your caltrops, mines traps so they have to go over the devices to get you  (not in front)

some thing to keep in mind, long shot and full draw will aggro a ton

so if you use them make sure they are gonna kill what your aiming for or they will find you and kill you

I am not sure what bard you might be referring to I thought they gave one of each class.

Thought the 3rd was a Legionnaire. (aka Tank or Beast). and livid, walking fortress and bulwark are a must asap.
