I was wondering what the new icon under my avatar was. This is cool because I didn't think we'd get something like it.
I bought Jade Empire the second I saw it was free. I can't play it on this 32-bit laptop, but hopefully I'll get a new laptop that can play it in the future.
Im just having an issue where the game starts up but is stuck on the character splash screen. Cant do anything else from there.

Works for me - some glitches/bugs. Absolutely loving this game. All the roller coaster emotion and action and bloody lost spirits. How can BW not go on with something this good. Maker - get a bunch of talented modders together, write the damn thing, put something playable together and send it to BW. As far as I can see they keep talking about JE and they should keep on with it.

Finished my first walkthrough last night. I enjoyed it, all in all. 
However, I read some notes here and there realised that I missed some companion-related things. I thought I was meant to talk to my companions only when the arrow above them showed up, but, apparently, it wasn't the case.
Oh well, one more reason to play again. xD

Probably cuz Windows 10. Did you get it with your comp, or did you upgrade from 7 or 8? Every time I've seen someone upgrade from 7 or 8 to 10, game issues suddenly start happening. If I had to guess, I'd say you need a C++ Runtime Library, but no clue which one. I could be wrong, but maybe.
Not helpful, I know, but since your comp easily meets the required specs (just about any comp should), I'm just using experience to judge. There are 1 too many C++ RTLs...

No issue here. Upgraded to W10 from W7 a month or so back. Played the game through without any real issues.
Damn glad I decided to give it a try. The game was surprisingly fun with a pretty good story...especially considering it's over 10 years old. I would definitely be on board for a modern version of the game.

Me too. I started a second game to try to do all the things I missed the first time around. And since I managed to get to Lord Lao's Furnace this time, it was totally worth it! 
As of February 4, 2016, Jade Empire is no longer Free.
Somehow...it makes me feel kind of sad seeing it free on Origin. 
This game is so f*ing underrated!
