U.E.C. RELIANCE SHIP'S LOG - CLASSIFIED
DAY 1:
Today is the day that it all begins, I have just received Cmdr. Shepard's message to the crew. I have listened to the message numerous times, reflecting upon the words and have decided to record this initial log before broadcasting it to the crew and letting them also reflect upon our mission. We are ready for what lies ahead, for
"WE ARE TRAVELLERS"
and will go where none of us have gone before.
"CONSTANTLY MOVING FORWARD"
The vast technological jumps that have occurred so recently, all seemingly to fall together just at the right time. The signal from the final shuttle which carries our last crew member - "Decider" - indicates that they will arrive shortly. They have additional information and background about our mission, but most importantly they have the activation key for Myrmidon.
"AND LOOKING BACK"
History and reflection tell us who we were and where we came from and what we came through. There is no better example of this than the research, science, engineering divisions comprised of quarians, salarians and humans - even the renegade Cereberus personnel that were targeted for termination after betraying their leader and coming to know that all races need to work together to be better and greater.
"ALONE, AND AS ONE"
No race can stand alone. For in so doing, we are less than we can be. 'One' does not mean being alone but instead acting with a common purpose and goal, no matter the number involved. When the group acts with a single purpose, our goal will be achieved.
"WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO TRY"
And try we must. Failure is not an option. Cmdr Shepard's warning of Reapers was heard. N7 Griffon Command classified the reports to the highest level and began process of fiancing and building this ship; recruiting the crew and gathering the resources. The things that N7GC has done and is responsible for will never truly be known but their practices and code have been instilled in each member of the N7 Corps.
"FOR OUR INSATIABLE CURIOUSITY"
Curiousity is our greatest asset that leads to discover that which is undiscoverable. It cannot be weaned and humanity inspires others.I hope my own exploration of this trait will not lead to my downfall, since it has fallen to me to be the guardian and protector. That voice in my head which summoned to that dark world and take a precious treasure on this journey. How it knew, I do not know. Curiousity is strength when used with faith and weakness if accompanied by fear.
"FOR OUR FEAR AND WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IF WE DON'T."
Despite the crew compliment being primary Human, all of the races have contributed to this mission in one form or another. We have a common goal of survival and that purpose drives us all. Who would have believed that this crew could be assembled and working together have been able to achieve so much is so little time. Matriach Benel has been of great influence and ensured that the peace is maintained on the ship. Surprisingly, she has also demonstrated to all that her sense of humor matches her diplomatic skills. (And of course, her archeological and archivist background may prove invaluable.)
Praetor Manus and Warlord Tret have worked well together and established routines for the crew to keep them mentally and physically fit. The Turin and Krogan crew have augmented each other and working with the Salarians and Quarians have developed new tech designs for armor and weapons should they be needed. An isolated area has been set aside for 'The Forge' to research, develop and test these enhancements. I hope that neither of their pasts have to play a part in this journey, but their combined tactical analysis, assessment and planning skills could prove essential if we encounter hostilities.
Spymaster K, still won't tell us his name only that he was once part of an elite salaraian STG team. Whatever. Most of the salarians on the crew either give him a wide berth or do not look at him, but they follow his words very closely. I have heard a rumor that K was one of the main players behind the backing of this journey, securing tens of millions of credits - there were even whispers that have reached me that he has ties to The Shadow Broker. Spymaster K is always serious and determined; peircing the veils of deception quite easily.
These four and myself comprise the UEC Council and are primarily charged to safeguard the gene bank, seed bank, racial histories and memories that we take with us.
"YOU ARE THE EXPLORER NOW"
Exploration. Finding the right places to launch new civilizations, we must find then so that we can grow and thrive. We must try to avoid the mistakes that accompany exploration and not be to quick to judge. Our galaxy houses so many races, we go to another galaxy much larger so the odds of encountering other races is very high.
"WE WILL SAY GOOD-BYE"
This journey is one way and there will be no way back.
"AND YOU WILL LOOK BACK ONE LAST TIME"
We leave this solar system and continue out past the rim of our galaxy. The Andromeda Galaxy is where we are headed. Even now, I feel the faint vibrration of the ship as the mass effect core begins to warm up. That engine, so vast and dynamic, incorporating so much technology from all over the rim - artifacts once lost and now decyphered gave us the clues to put this all together.
"AND KNOW THAT WHEREVER YOU GO,"
The universe stretches before us, so vast and mysterious but this is what defines us and makes us better.
"WE WILL BE WITH YOU."

And Shepard, for all you have done and continue to do, we shall not fail. The Reapers shall not know of our passing beyond their reach. You have saved more than you know and lives you touched wove this web.
