There was a huge improvement from ME2 to ME3, re combo detonation mechanics.

About the only reason I still play ME3MP occasionally is to combo detonate my enemies into the ether. I'm hoping this trend continues and we get even more capability from the protagonists powers.

What improvements could be made? What new powers can you think of?

I am sooo looking forward to ME:A MP

I was thinking they could bring back Damping from Mass Effect 1 in some form. It was really useful but dropped from the Sequels for some reason. They could bring it back in Andromeda, though they could make it so it damages biotic barriers and stops them from using warp and things.

I can't really think of any new powers at the moment, but I can think of one I'd like to see return: ME1's version of throw. Sending a group of enemies hurtling to their deaths is much goodness.

I think the combos in me3 were a step back not forward. I liked adding a combo for tech hey that's great. But making every combo a detonation made it exceptionally boring.

Have unique effects for each combo and then I'll like it. But throw detonating is lame. Throw launching you into orbit when a person is listed is awesome.

I completely agree. Certain combos were great - warp should prime/detonate. Singularity remaining and prime targets was also great. Enemies pulled? I missed being able to pull/throw and watch them fly away.

I did NOT like detonating tech. Once they introduced that, tech detonations became priority. It was incredibly frustrating to not get off that biotic explosion because someone was spamming incinerate/overload.

Slam should still be reworked. It was absolutely useless in ME2. It was nice that it detonated in ME3, but it still only affected those who weren't shielded iirc. It should naturally have a small AoE effect and lift (for an incredibly brief second or half a second) shielded enemies. I loved the idea of the ability, but it has yet to be useful.

I can't think how, but I'd love to see new combos for biotics (and don't get me wrong, BE are the ****).

I hope they can introduce more combos in both branches. Although as I've said I can't think in anything new beyond what we already have... maybe plasma explosions? (sounds weird) fusion detonations? lol.

Another thing that I thought about ages ago was to differentiate how good tech is vs shields and vice-versa. Say, tech powers deal more damage to shields and biotic powers deal more to barriers (or the other way around, whatever makes more sense).

I also hope things like throw can bypass shields/barriers/armor. I don't get it why someone in "armor" magically can't be lifted if it's humanoid like.

Exactly! One of the main reasons to pick adept/vanguard in ME2 was to do the lift+throw combo, man that was fun. Or lift+slam, seeing npcs go up 10 meters and then crush into the ground was painfully fun to watch.

More varied effects than just explosions would be a very welcome addition.

Fiery techsplosions make sense, but regular techsplosions should work like EMPs. Stripping shields in a wide area and maybe even temporarily screwing up enemies' weapons and disorienting synthetic enemies would be a lot cooler than an explosion.

I think it would also be cool if using Throw or Slam on enemies trapped in a Singularity caused them to be sucked in, making them disappear entirely.

Biotic lift from ME1. Felt like a was using force choke. I would lift enemies and have my squad mates unload on them.

I liked all your ideas but this one is ridiculously cool.

I'd like more omni-melee options. In MP We got the Bow and the Shield. Typically melee is a bad idea, you don't bring a knife to a gunfight. In this day and age of the future however, a gun won't always save your life before the enemy can get into melee range, thanks to shields/barriers. Making melee a viable option again. I'd like to explore that more.

Omni-shield in one hand, omni-axe in the other, jetpack boosting me recklessly into the enemy's front lines. Hell, dual wielding omni-morning stars. Basically I'd just love to have some more melee viable options. Particularly in the MP side of things where the drawback to melee was always being forced to choose between HP/Shields Fitness and Melee Damage Fitness. I'd love to dump my passives into 4a/5a/6a and keep 4b/5b/6b. Or mix it up, dump my hp/shields into power damage and melee damage.

Imagine a Drell Vanguard zipping across the map with an Omni-swordspear whipping around him, dodging Brutes, decapitating Aboms, etc.
