Is Mass Effect AD going to be story based like ME 1 - 3 where or is it going to be just based on flying around discovering things cause if so that is very much high irratating and unexceptable for me as a ME fan. I can understand the exploration part is fantastic but what made mass effect so loved by all of us is its ability to tell an amazing story with awesome gameplay, exploration, customizing etc. You get the idea. I cannot even fathom how Bioware is going to bring a story line that can be much more epic then a race of sentient machines that come ever 50,000 years to wipe out all galactic life. That is insane in itself. Only thing I could possible understand as a fan myself is to bring a story of either how it all started or a story based on what life was like in the galaxy and the universe after everything has come to pass. Or the idea of some mosterous event happens that will wipe out the universe and the protagonist will stop it from happening. Its just to hard to bring so much epicness from after a story like the reapers. I love you bioware, I love mass effect. Please do not ruin the only game that has made a difference in my life. I have changed from a person who was growing up that didnt have a care in the world about anyone else, mass effect has changed that for me. I have become a better person, helping, volenteering to my community and to eldery and everyone and anyone I can help as best I can. Thanks to shepard he has changed my life. Some people might think this sounds crazy but some peoples lifes can change making them for the better from a video game not just cause its a game but the story, the will power the experience you get to live through the eyes of someone else wether there real or not cause have a huge impact on a person. Thank you bioware and the community for this experience, I will never forget it and yall will always be number 1. Mass effect is truly amazing, and has made a massively effect on my life. Happy N7! And Thanks everyone and the bioware team wherever you may be.

They're too busy making Mass Effect Andromeda to reply to you.  ;)

We don't get much BioWare responses in here other than Bryan Johnson wandering in once in a while and making a few posts.

In either case a video game having an impact on a person's life really isn't all that crazy sounding any more. Mass Effect 3 had a pretty significant impact on mine.

In the last trilogy they ask the question what is life?, they'll build the new trilogy around that, a big question.

You know, it is nice to see heartfelt thanks for everything Bioware has done right, rather than the constant negativity that is way more common around here.

I agree, thanks Bioware. And thanks for making MEA too, I'm sure it will kick ass. Listen to the naysayers because they have good ideas about how not to contradict your own lore, but don't listen to the negativity too much.

Even though they're probably busy with their upcoming games it is nice to see some of the Bioware members posting on the forums. I agree though, I love DA and ME and thank Bioware for creating them.

Well if they asked this question they never got round to answering it then.

Yes they did. Or rather, they left it up to the player to definitively decide. They heavily pushed the position (which is suggested by neuroscience, and I agree with) that there should be no fundamental difference between consciousness in a synthetic being or in an organic one. Whether or not the player agrees with that position is fundamentally up to them, and both sides of the argument are presented (although the story is biased in this regard).

This is explored not only in the Geth, but in the very nature of the Reapers themselves, the "virtual aliens" from Cerberus daily news, interactions with EDI and other AIs, etc. It is possibly the most fundamental and recurring theme in Mass Effect, from Eden Prime to the Catalyst decision chamber.

So while they may not have come out and said "life is organic and synthetic, there is no ultimate difference" it is obvious that is their opinion in the trilogy.

So I guess plants aren't life? Have no idea what you are going on about, but if life is based on consiousness...

The question 'What is life?' was never asked and never answered.

Thanks Bioware for the trilogy so I can do a playthrough like this. Excellent. Can you do it again for Andromeda?
