Ok guys/gals! Lets talk about the engineer class, as we know from ME1-3 the engineer has had a few huge changes since its first encounter in the ME1 game. Since ME1 we have seen the class move from basic tech powers/attacks certain weapons allowed with this character. After ME1 the amazing game of ME2 was released, this brought new abilitys and upgrades to the classes basic abilitys and weapon wear, then came along ME3, boy what a day for the engineer fans, a self sustaining ball of energy that can fire missles/bullets hell even shock an enemy that got to close to it, this was amazing since it brought some idea of what a combat companion would be like in the ME universe. So lets see tech powers such as incenerate has seen a huge upgrade, freeze, combat companion idea, and so forth, The engineer has had its day when ME3 was released, I hope bioware will continue to increase this classes ability to move forward with the universes technology in ME. All the classes in the ME universe are amazing in the own unique way but if you are the sit back and let your companion beat the tar outa everything player like me (Only the idea of putting less effort to beat some enemies up is the way to go) =D then you would love this playstyle. Thanks bioware from bringing us the engineer and we will be waiting to see how far yall will go to bring this killing machine further.

I'm not a fan of Engineer in Two. It was a bit boring compared with the other classes because the powers weren't that interesting. When I imported my Engineer, I changed the class to Soldier.

I like the engineer class. Had a lot of fun in ME3 playing as one. I recently did a playthrough without firing my weapon, unless the game forces me to, just using overload, cyro blast, sentry turret and combat drone.

What I like to see added to the class is an upgrade to the sentry turret.  Something similiar to the mini turret the Cerberus engineers used in ME3.

I enjoyed the Engineer in ME and ME3, but not ME2.

Perhaps because I couldn't use a sniper rifle.

Engineer and Biotic are both versions of the "Mage" archetype, unfortunately while Biotics and Vanguards are fun in the extreme, Engineers are less so.

Maybe this will change in ME:A, maybe Engineer will prove to be fun as well.

How about you talk about it way over there? It has nothing to do with Andromeda.

ME:A will most likely have the same classes or similar to ME:3, so it has everything to do with it.

They let me use a sniper rifle as an engineer in Mass Effect: Andromeda and I'm likely to select that class though sniper rifle is the deciding factor for me when it comes to classes so if it does not allow for it then no dice.

Not my favourite.

My play style orbits the Adept, Vanguard, Soldier and Sentinel. I play the other classes "on rotation", so to speak.  Add the fact that I have only one level X assault rifle (Avenger) and one level X SMG and one shotgun at level X (Katana) and no level IV equipment pretty much limits my choices to Bronze and Silver.

The Engineer class is strictly Bronze (for me). I tried playing with some heavy weapons but

1) it's bloody slow  and

2) got  caught with my pants down more than once and

3) boring.

Plus, my favourite Power is Overload. As to tech combos, yeah, I used the right ammo and was able to "carnage" the enemy into hundreds of body parts .

More like the nerd class amirite fellas?

But nah, I like Vanguard. If I need a computer hacked I'll order a lackey to do it.

Huh? Just take sniper rifle training on the Collector Ship. I almost always had a sniper rifle in ME2 whether as an adept or engineer.

Also, I don't understand this ME3 Engineer > ME2 Engineer. In my experience, with the exception of tech combos, the ME2 Engineer was superior. They had the exact same power set in both games with the addition of sentry turrets in ME3 which were totally under-whelming. And the drone was seriously downgraded in ME3 where it would barely distract anyone any more. In addition, incineration blast went from a 3 meter radius in ME2 to only 2 meters in ME3. Overload was upgraded with ability to do health and armor damage in ME3, but then it was weakened by going to Chain Overload rather the Wide Overload as in ME2 with a 3 meter radius.

(meanwhile the ME1 engineer just sucked balls.)

I don't think there was any way to know that was an option when selecting a class. ME2 was the game that introduced weapon restrictions by class (a terrible idea); all I saw was Engineers unable to use sniper rifles.

Undocumented or unlockable features aren't helpful.

How often did a ME2 Engineer need to shoot things? If the answer is more than hardly ever, that's why the ME3 Engineer is better liked.

I found ME1's combat generally superior. We got to engage at greater range, and there were tech grenades.

It's a better game all around, I think.

I don't get the dislike for ME1 engineers even. Their debuffs were insanely powerful and actually did good damage on most difficulties. Yeah lift is more effective crowd control but turning off all their guns then stripping all their shields and potentially just killing a massive group was pretty solid. And given how many enemies were geth or droned hacking is just cheat mode. Suck it rocket drones.

ME2 no guns needed. Lost most their debuffs but gained some crowd control and the damage was top notch. Strip shields. Freeze and shoot frozen targets. Strip shields and light on fire which depending on level etc might just kill them though it might take a 2nd one. Combat drone was maybe the best crowd control in the game.

ME3 pretty much me2 but drone was weaker they added a floating gun and everything exploded in a act of developer laziness.

Every game the engineer was a beast.

I still feel like you should be able to issue commands to pets like the Combat Drone. It would solve 90% of the issues I have with those abilities.

As it stands now, Engineer is probably actually my least favourite class. Though some of the MP Engineer kits were fun.

I'm, speaking as an ME3MP player.

You may see the E as a beast but somehow I see E as a whimp.  Many posts see the E as "unkillable", which may be so but what does the E bring to the table?  Either I need glasses or my play style is anti E.

I would argue Engineer was the weakest overall class in ME3 MP, and of the kits that were strong most of those were gimmicky grenade spammers.

The ME3 casting damage output was so horribly reliant on being able to spam combos, and tech combos just weren't really on the same level as biotic ones, other than the N7 Paladin which is technically considered a Sentinel.

In MP. Which engineer? they are strongly effected by the drop to 3 powers. Their powers are less redundant than an adepts for example so they lose a lot more there. Still while not unique shield stripping is very effective and opens up crowd control to a wider range of teammates. Some priming and detonating capabilities. I like the n7 engineer for their pylon and arc grenades but admittedly not a classic engineer.

Engineer is still my favorit class in ME 2-3. In ME 1 ... i just don`t like the fighting system in me1. It was all to chaotic and glitchy with enemys wo where floating buggy inside of indoor-deko or run dumb into close combat. There is no Player class ich really like to fight with in ME1 after playing ME2-ME3, its always missing somthing.

In ME3 the Drone is still god to distract brutes
