I would not want to be on the receiving end of that combo!  Glad to hear spell might has some use.  Still I wonder how much spell might added to the total dmg?  Probably more useful to a direct damage mage the a CC mage.

For the most part though several of the CC spells (crushing prison, cone of cold, etc.) also have a damage component. Additionaly, it will increase the efficacy of your heal spells should you chose to use them.

Possibly more importantly, for anything that has a physical or mental resistance check, it's your Spellpower that they're making the check against.

I love the versatility of the glyph line, there's a tool for every occasion - if you get ambushed - repulsion/warding. If you get the jump on them - paralysis explosion. Bosses/elites - paralysis/warding. Mages - neutralisation.

I'm a big fan of the glyph line, telekinesis, and cold spells. Paralyze and mass paralysis are good too. Paralyze < Glyphs though.

Glyph line has Paralysis as first tier spell instead of 2nd tier for Paralysis line. Repulsion and access to the PE combo is only 3rd tier, while Mass Paralysis is 4th tier (but party friendly). My current game has Wynne with the full Glyph line, and Morrigan with Paralysis line (to try it out), but she also picked up the tier 1 Glyph (too useful not to).

To start out a fight, PE is better than Mass Paralysis due to the casting time (especially if you have one mage with the Glyph line, and another with at least Glyph of Paralysis). When I hit the random encounter with the large darkspawn party vs. the mage and apprentices on a hill, I got off a quick PE from Wynne and Morrigan combining. Only two darkspawn escaped the PE. Wynne got one of them with her Glyph of Par. while Morrigan had time to cast Inferno and then Fireball on the main group of paralyzed darkspawn.

That being said, I don't mind having access to both the Glyph and the Paralyze line in my current game. PE is only safe to use in certain situations (though Paralysis by itself is always useful and Repulsion often is too). Wynne's job is to use her Glyphs at the start, and then switch to healing/support spells. Morrigan has Glyph of Para., Paralyze, Mass Paralyze, Sleep, Horror, Cone of Cold, Mind Blast, Force Field, and Crushing Prison. Once all the mages and archers are disabled, she can either maneuver for CoC or use Mass Paralysis on melee enemies. Wynne throws in Shattering Fist whenever CoC is used, but mostly my DW Rogue gets to go around getting free backstabs on everyone.

Glyphs line is great. I like the fact that they do not require direct-line-of-sight to cast. I only hoped that the glyph of warding wld stick to the feet of the target instead....
