Today I saw someone post this link listing in-game character descriptions (http://imgur.com/a/KG5nY) and I wondered what I'd put for my character if meant to introduce them before the game begins.

 

 

Demona Adaar

 

Character description:

 

Demona is a very skilled Tal-Vashok mage; having all her life been the outsider. First it was just being qunari, then a mage, then a female around mostly male mercenaries, and finally as a lesbian. For many years she struggled with isolation, repression, denial, and depression because of these factors; especially sexual orientation which took years to truly accept. Coming into adulthood she learned to accept who she was and made her uniqueness a strength rather than weakness. This attitude, and her studious aptitude towards magic, helped her excel in the Valo-Kas mercenary company.

 

Adaar values knowledge, especially magical curiosity, and has little patience for those who’d shun such out of fear or ignorance. Unsurprisingly, as a “sarebas” with such opinions and considering what they’d do to her under qunari rule, Demona loathes the qun; hating people’s assumptions of her endorsing it just because of her race. She views the qunari’s opinion of mages as “dangerous things” as them having an inferiority complex; making non-magical people feel better by convincing themselves those with magic are cursed “things” that inevitably cannot control their power. Indeed, she believes most people’s fears of mages can at least be partially attributed to jealousy.

 

 

Side-note: I always found each of my characters to have a best friend/rival among companions. Based on your character's personality, which are yours? For Demona's, her best friend was Solas and her best (and only) rival was Vivienne.

Lyn Trevelyan, former member of the Ostwick Circle of Magi, until her circle, like all of the others, voted in favor of rebellion. Lyn did not oppose the vote, while she does belive that mages need special training, she does not think the Circles are the answer. Mages who prove themselves capable of using thier magic safely and, avoiding possession should be allowed any station in life they desire bethat Military service, serving in the Chantry, politics, merchant, farmer or whatever they desire, same as any other person.

 

Lyn is skilled and, strong willed but has a heart of gold and, though her primary talent is throwing fire balls, she wants to help people in any way she can. She is a staunch Andrastian but, believes the Chantry had failed the people and, did so long before the rebellion.
