In the Mass Effect series there has always been a triumvirate of powers.
Combat
Tech
Biotics
What would you want as another?
What could nose it's way in without displacing the others, or being redundant?

None really.. they kind of equate to old Warrior/Rogue/Mage. Everything would change if you changed the nature of the games... like more trading, politics, or mercantile stuff. But since it's mostly combat, there isn't much to do... I think?

Though Mass Effect certainly doesn't need it, there is Shadowrun's system that gets far more granular than merely "tech," and "magic," (biotics, of course). It differentiates between hacking, biotech, and drones for tech and a handful of magic schools I couldn't be bothered to remember. In terms of Mass Effect, this could mean a division between more weapon tech abilities (drone/fire) and hacking abilities (overload/damping).
If that's a bit redundant, then maybe there could be "Psionic" abilities like somewhat XCOM: innate mental abilities that affect the mind only (so as not to overlap with Biotics).

That's just layers of needless complication on top of a system that already works just fine.
Biotics already covers that. Reave and Dominate.
I wan't suggesting that BIoWare actually do this.
However, I do think moving Reave and Dominate into psionics is for the best because I have a hard time believing that Biotics, which as far as I can tell, is essentially just telekinesis on steroids, can be used for mind control or intricate biological attacks. I'm content filing them under space magic and calling it a day because they're cool, but I don't think putting them under a Psionics category would be a terrible idea.
Reave and Dominate are pushing it, I agree. I don't think about it, but it always stuck in the back of my mind how they fit in the biotics scheme.
I think they're just there because someone at Bioware has a hardon for life stealing and... well.. domination.. and had to cram it in. In Dragon Age, it's Blood Magic.
Considering that they already include classes that are half and half of the three core techniques, I think they're good. They have the variation and differentiation that's needed, allowing your three core RPG classes within this setting, plus allowing hybrids. The system they have now seems fairly solid to me. If it's not broke, don't fix it.
I love your Avatar.

I don't think we really need a fourth power. Most things could probably fit into the three available (or would not fit the game in general), and if you want to get specific, the powers already break down into the different classes for how they're used.
How about a build with all three: a combat biotic tech specialist????

That's a ME3 Sentinel, isn't it?

I see what you mean. But isn't it supposed to be biotic and tech?
Maybe a class which is unlocked when you finish the game once with each class. That could be fun, as you play with your super biotic tech soldier with tech armour, throw and concussive shot. Idk, I'm just making this up as I go along.

Love, obviously.

The class triangle thing never made sense anyway. They're all combat, only two add different flavors of special ability then the other has to also get special abilities to balance it then all three things are just different names for guns and magic powers.

There's not really much difference in those gameplay-wise. I'd deepen those differences.
Other than that I feel more a convention of the 4 defining ME gameplay:
Shooty Play
Power Play
Melee'n'Manoevres Play
Story Play
Critter Taming
Enables you to tame/train a Thresher Maw that you can then ride around on like Muad'dib ...
<<<<<<<<<<()>>>>>>>>>>
Kinetics of course.
Examples:
1.Aerokinesis -- manipulation of air
2. Atmokinesis -- manipulation of the weather
3. Aurokinesis -- manipulate and generate gold <<< (who needs loot?)
4. Cryokinesis -- manipulate andghenerate ice
5. Electrokinesis -- manipulate and generate exlectricity.
6. Flyrokinesis -- manipulate and generate force fields
7. Gyrokinesis -- manipulate gravity
8. Pyrokinesis -- manipulate and generate fire

I would be fan of building a character that is not in the middle of firefight. Like, you choose the 3 persons of the squads and give your commands, talking via their omnitechs. Feeling like a commander.
Jetpack skill tree; range of jetpack, attacks similar to "incendiary havoc strike".
Or Commander skill tree; buffs companions, gives companions abilities.
explosives. specialized grenades, wrist missiles, orbital strikes and the like.
