Will Bioware finally allow us to have pre-set with more of an ethnic look? Many games including Fallout 3 and 4, and online games allow you to make variety of ethnic characters. I like to make my character Asian, but it's just so hard with Bioware games. Some people just want to make characters that resemble them since it's a roleplaying game, and it's hard with the CC Bioware uses. Asians are especially hard compared to Blacks and Whites since the facial structure is more toned and less edges, and their eyes shaped differently, some may not have double eyelids. I feel like the CC seems to use a frame that has more caucasian outlook. I don't mind at all, but at least give us an Asian pre-set for us to work with. I can create Black, White, Hispanic, but it's hard when you try to make a convincing Asian character in Bioware games.

Well my first Shepard was mixed Black and Asian don't ask me how I did that. I just ran with it. I do agree with this though my problem I never get the right skin tone. Very disappointed with my character in Fallout 4 and his wife.

I support more hot asian women in games in general.

This includes being able to play as them.

They've been steadily improving the sophistication of the CC in their franchises, so hopefully it will be possible with the Andromeda PC.

Yeah, I tried making an Asian female Shepard and she didn't look quite right. I'm hoping for a better character creator in general, something that lets you make your own unique character rather than mix-and-matching a number of preset features.

I think one of the main improvements they need to do is to create a pre-set from which we can modify our face on. With a pre-set, the developers can put effort into shaping the face and notice any facial features they may overlook from other white or black pre-set. As I said, Asian facial feature is a bit different from other races since their face is in general toner and their eyes are different, and the skin can range from olive to lighter white or yellow, their lips can be a bit thicker and fuller than white. These things are very easily overlook without a pre-set in place. If possible, use a face model as preference or scanning the frame.

I had East-Asian Shepard, but I agree that it was really hard to make one and make them look good. I had to spent hours recreating him in ME3 as well cause face didn't import properly for some reason.

I'd love preset that looked Asian and you could modify. Would make it lot easier to make Asian characters. Though the question would be Asian from what area also cause if you think about Indian and Japanese people for example they are very different looking.

I'm referring to East Asians, which have a very particular look. Their eyes are smaller and more slanted, their skin is lighter. Although once you go to Southeast Asia, their eyes are bigger and their skin are darker, and they could have double eyelids. I think it's a bit easier to recreate as opposed to East Asians with more distinct skin color and eye shapes. Depending on countries, Koreans have high cheekbones in general while Japanese have less protrude cheekbones, their skin is a bit lighter, and their frame can be a bit smaller as well. As I said, these differences require more than just a white pre-set you can alter to look Asian. You need an actual Asian pre-set then you can change your appearance to reflect the appearance of your country of origin.

The guy in my OP is Korean.

You can see the difference when compared to a Chinese guy who has bigger eyes.

The picture above looks interesting, which show is it from?

Bioware's CC has never been that great with eyes, 'asian' eyes to them are these tiny slanted slits, almost offensive really.

I'm quite impressed with Fallout 4's CC actually, somehow ended up with an Asian character who resembles my grandfather in his youth. Played him as a chinese sleeper agent trying to make a life in post apocalyptic america. pretty fun.

Into the Badlands, the highest debuted cable show this season. Imagine that , Asian males being put in the lead and sexually desirable. :P

My character in Fallout 4 looks Southeast Asian, which I modified from the East Asian pre-set, it takes a lot of guess works out of the way. It makes it very satisfying to know that they take everyone into account while making the CC. I don't see why is it so hard to implement an Asian preset, especially for a triple A game.

All I can say is gymgymgymgymgymgymgymgymgymgym, living in edinburgh that's about the only way to beat the odds, and I mean that in real life. A posh accent helps as well I guess.

My quizzy looks kinda malaysian chinese I want to say. Only DAI's engine is too cartoony to achieve much subtlety.

Jade Empire is free on Origin at the moment and booted it up for the first time today (well, first time since i downloaded it - played it loads way back when). Given the limited graphics of the day they actually do a good job in it of Asian faces (though admittedly there is no CC). So hopefully we'll see that translated into the newer engine - fingers crossed.

I always tried to make a Latin Shepard, tan colored skin, and dark hair, except when my wife asked me to make one that looked like her (she is light skinned). The male Shepard's I created looked good for a Latin descent but FemShep always looked like a Caucasian with a spray tan.

Yah, it's kind'a odd that a game that's 11 years (or so) old has widescreen support and can play games at 1080?  amirite?

I support this. It would be nice if it wasn't so difficult to make the character look like me. I got close with ME1, but when I imported to ME2 it was all messed up. :(

Yep, there is just difference that I wanted to point out since Asia is big place :)

I think being able to have monolids on your protagonist, maybe from eye-presets would already help a lot when making East-Asian characters.

Post a pic?

I'd like this too. It bugs me that a company that claims to be 'inclusive' can't find a way to include a huge percentage of the population of the planet.

Indian is actually pretty easy to do. Their features are pretty close to caucasian. (technically they are dark skinned caucasians from what I understand of anthropology)

I was sort of able to make a (vanilla) Asian character in ME3.

She looks wonky as fu in the other games though.

As long as the character creator is good, I enjoy messing around with facial sliders, but I agree it would be so much easier if there were decent presets.
