I can understand why long time fans of MASS EFFECT would be excited about the new game but who is NOT excited and why? I find myself still sour about how my Shepard's story ended also feeling a since of false hope towards this new game, wanting to believe something will be there that clearly will not, its a difficult feeling to have. I had such an emotional attachment to the original story and it's characters, for me its just hard to care much about this.............what are your thoughts? Thanks :)

Don't judge me to harshly, I have not posted here in sometime because of my conflicting feelings towards Andromeda, my support for this new story is just not there unfortunately, I feel as though this is MASS EFFECT for a new generation. Bioware's way of saying "lets start fresh"

Please do'not think I am a Troll because I am not, I have not been here is sometime and this will be my final post here so trolling is not my intention, just trying to take the temperature of the room. I have enjoyed this community very much over the years, my first ever forum and I have no regrets, one thing Bioware does flawlessly with their games is bring fans together and hopefully that will never change.

Thanks for being so kind you guys and Thank You Bioware for the memories and the best sci fi story, characters, music, I have experienced since STAR WARS. ANDROMEDA will definitely gain a new generation of fans and retain some of the old school fans, I hope the experience is as epic and unforgettable as the original for those who choose to play it. :)

Take Care All

Mass Effect is my second favourite series of games, but my overall lack of excitement right now doesn't come from attachment to the ending of ME3.

It's more just that Andromeda is still pretty far from release even if they don't delay it and we know so little about it that i just can't get excited for it over games that are much closer.

There is not much hype to have anyway because Bioware didn't reveal all that much so far anyway. (spare me the potential leaked spoilers)

I'm sure I'll get hyped later, but ATM I'm not really feeling the new frontier vibe. Mass Effect has always been about the characters for me, so I'm still missing the old crew and haven't learned enough about the new crew to get excited. Also, I loved Jen Hale's voice and worry I won't get as attached to Ryder's VA. I hated Hawke and am moderately indifferent to the Inquisitor, which I don't blame on the VAs, exactly (writing and direction obviously had something to do with it), but they didn't make me love the protagonist either.

More information next year will probably help.

What is there to be excited about?

Honestly, Bio has kept information about Andromeda quite close to its vest. A truly remarkable feat.

Yeah, I'm surprised at how little we know about it considering that it is slated for release in about a year.  By this time in the DA:I phase, we had a ton of concept art and they were starting to release character information.  We had successfully speculated most of the companions already and several major plot points (such as the sacking of Haven) were already on people's radar.  For ME:A, we know almost nothing.

It's all good, guys. We'll have Dark Souls 3 to tide us over until release.

My lack of excitement comes from two things:

1.  We know almost nothing.

2. I'm not happy with stuff we've learned from leak- strong emphasis on open world exploration and krogan squadmate (I'm not a big fan of krogans)

Yeah, that was actually a lot of fun. Remember trying to guess who and what Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy was?

Is still too early for me to be exited. Not much information, basically just a trailer and few concept art.

And the burn from the ending of ME3 still sting a lot to me. I don't find myself very engaged in the new game, knowing I may end up again with one of my biggest delusion about a videogame serie.

Why am I not excited?

1) We know virtually nothing about the story or premise.  And what we do know makes it seem very un-Mass Effect from a lore standpoint.

2) ME3 and it's sucky ending does not inspire optimism for how future games will be handled.  Especially given the lack of information as per #1

3) The Johnny Cash teaser we saw made the game look like a pure shooter, which I have zero interest in.

As ever, both of these contribute to my wellspring of excitement.

But I generally want the things that most people were annoyed about in ME1 to return with a vengeance. If I can fart around in the Mako on unexplored planets that are bigger, with more stuff, I'm a happy camper.

I really WANT to be excited, but everything I've seen (what little I've seen) fills me with more trepidation than excitement. It's looking like the focus is going to be on open world exploration instead of classic BioWare storytelling, and that deeply depresses me. Open world exploration ruined DAI for me, and I'm nervous the same thing is going to happen to ME (both teams seem to have that "bigger is better!!" mindset).

And if the survey leak and trailer are any indication... it seems like we will have nothing new in the character department, same old, same old: a gruff male krogan, a sexy asari, etc.

It's sort of the way I felt when I learned the people working on the new Star Trek series also worked on the recent two (awful) reboot movies.

Huh? The survey didn't say anything about an asari, just that there's a character named Cora that people speculated was an asari. And it didn't say anything about Drack's character.

I'm happy they are working on a new Mass Effect game. However, I could care less if Shepard is in it or not. I, frankly, want something/someone new. Am I excited? Kinda. But I'll reserve "hype" for when they release actual information.

I'll get hyped when/if they start their marketing campaign. Until then, Overwatch and Fallout have my attention.

I'm not excited at all. The game's just too far off. I can't keep the hype going that long. What we've seen so far tells me almost nothing about the story, characters, actual gameplay, etc...

It's hard to be enthusiastic. With it so far off and it being disconnected from the trilogy story make it hard to feel that excited.

And looking back on the trilogy as a whole it is hard not to see how badly it suffered from lack of planning ahead. So my enthusiasm for the franchise has waned somewhat.

Exploring uncharted worlds in the Mako certainly has my attention, as it's at the top of my list of things I loved about the trilogy.

Of course, I also have some concerns about how some other things might play out.

But between the dearth of information and the long wait until release, I'm not jumping on the hype train just yet.

After DA2, SW:TOR, ME3 and DA:I it's hard to be excited about any new Bioware game. And this one sounds like its going to be one big disaster (if those leaks are anything to go by).

Going by the leaks, it's going to be BioWare's worst game yet.

Meh.  There are always people who say that the upcoming game is going to be the worst game ever and serve as the nail in Bioware's coffin.  I take all of that with a grain of salt.  Look at DA: I.  People went on and on about how terrible it was going to be and then, right after release, how terrible it was.  And how it was going to be the death of Bioware and blah blah blah.  And now, many people criticize it but very few are still adamant that it was the worst game ever.  I expect more of the same with ME: A.
