This guys Arcian , Iakus, daveliam and the similar but not me, that franchise ruin me (in a good way) because no other games/stories have made me feel so in love with their characters and story and i played GTA V, dead red redemption and watched Game of Thrones and other good games/stories but we (who really like to get lost in these new places and play an incredible story like no other) just have to wait a WHOLE year to get to play it or more if they dont delay the release.
I'm not seeing as I don't have a PS4, XboxOne or a proper gaming PC, ad It doesn't look like I'll be getting one for some time.
No leftover bitterness here. I'm looking forward to seeing how they expand the ME universe. But I can't say I'm excited and I'm not really giving into hype, because I don't even have a good enough computer to play DA:I right now, so... don't wanna get too worked up. It might be a while before I can afford it. ![]()
I'm looking forward to the game as much as I can with so little (read no) real information being released yet. I enjoy(ed) DAI (still playing it) and pretty much every other Bio game I've played- each for different reasons. My Shepards usually go with synthesis so they're all dead and that makes me happy we're moving on to something else with this game.
It's more just that Andromeda is still pretty far from release even if they don't delay it and we know so little about it that i just can't get excited for it over games that are much closer.
totally agree

this ME:A still is a whole lot of nothing...
For what is seen so far it doesn't look like a ME game it might as well be a new IP.
I am cringing a little about the Mako, I didn't like how it was used for the most part in ME1. And I am not that big a fan of the exploration idea, I prefer more of the combat scene, which I know there will be combat but I find it boring to have to establish colonies, send strike teams to defend certain settlements, send provisions/supplies to some colonies and not others. It seems that I'm going to be doing a lot of decisions from a terminal in the ship and not in the field.
I'm actually kind of excited to see their pander plan this time around, I mean how many ways could they possibly spin his after having gone the directions they'e gone..
The game... ehhh..............
That's er um... sort of a different kind of excitement though. ![]()
Will there be 19 companions or something? I mean how is this going to work?

Unless you don't have working eyes, or have never played a Mass Effect game... it looks exactly like a Mass Effect game.
I'm not excited, but not hating on it either... I don't know much about it. It'll come when it comes. The plot however sounds like the same old crap they keep churning out... where ancient artifacts hold the key to your power/chosen one abilities. Just watch.
But then, perhaps they'll read my posts and be embarassed for themselves. Then the plot will change ![]()

That's fine, though.
It's all in the execution.

Spoiler
That could've easily be seen as another IP.
I'm not excited because I don't have anything to be excited about. Sooo, wamp wamp.
We'll see.

In an alternate reality, where Mass Effect doesn't have an extremely distinctive aesthetic, maybe. I guess.
I'm very worried EA will ruin Mass Effect just like they ruin everything they get in their greedy hands (hello, Battlefront!), yet can't wait despite myself. Any Bioware game gets me excited. This time it kind of feels like waiting for the dentist, though.

It's fine maybe the first time. Maybe even the second or third.
Not the hundredth. So much high fantasy (but rarely sci-fi) follows this formula. And at the very least, formulas just bar people from doing anything original. It shuts off inspiration.
Then again, this is what many want. Kind of like McDonalds. lol. Anytime Bioware tries to depart a little bit, they get crucified (see DA2... although that had some of this formula too..with the Deep Roads idol).

But it really didn't look like any ME aesthetic that people are farmiliar with.
Meh. There are always people who say that the upcoming game is going to be the worst game ever and serve as the nail in Bioware's coffin. I take all of that with a grain of salt. Look at DA: I. People went on and on about how terrible it was going to be and then, right after release, how terrible it was. And how it was going to be the death of Bioware and blah blah blah. And now, many people criticize it but very few are still adamant that it was the worst game ever. I expect more of the same with ME: A.
Yeah lol I'm not a fan of DAI but people who go on about "THE WORST GAME EVER!!1!" and "nail in the coffin" and "never buy another BioWare game again" and "EA Overlords MWAHAHAH" just make me roll my eyes.

I'm the same way. Of course my favorite aspect is the narrative and characters, but I much prefer the combat to the exploration. Don't get me wrong; I'm a big sci-fi fan and I love the amazing visuals and yes, I did read every description of ever planet at one time because I'm a space geek lol But all that stuff you mentioned about settlements and colonies just makes me cringe and think of a strategy game like Age of Empires or something.

Um, well, this is the kind of extremist rhetoric I was talking about?? EA did not ruin Battlefront. I played 2 and I'm enjoying 3. They're very similar. Battlefront was about playing with or against your friend and getting to slaughter countless drones with your light saber. It still is.
It's fine maybe the first time. Maybe even the second or third.

DA2 was a novel execution of a pretty standard formula. FWIW, it remains one of my favorite games.
I just think that the journey is more important than the beginning (or the end for that matter). Good world design, good writing, good characters, good execution are what's more important, at least in my view.
But it really didn't look like any ME aesthetic that people are farmiliar with.
You're seriously the only person I've seen on here who's ever thought this.
Others are welcome to weigh in, of course.

It wasn't a standard formula. It was mostly an immigrant story. It has more in relation to Scarface and GTA IV than, say, ME and DAI.
The formulaic bits were the idol. But the formula tends to involve a "Dark Lord" or dark force who wants this ancient artifact for themselves. And a Chosen One who thwarts it. There's no Dark Lord in DA2 and Hawke is far from Chosen One.

Nope, its not far feteched to mistake what is seen so far for another IP.
It's not unsurprising that some people may not have interest in the next game.
What is odd is that certain people are here every day to tell us just how not interested they are.
