First of all, I apologize if this has been asked already. I searched on the forums (and google) a bit and found nothing specific so I'll give it a try.

I read in the wiki that Thane is supposed to appear next to Shepard during the "it's been a good ride" scene if you romanced him. Thing is, that's exactly what I did but I only got Joker's part. Thane was my only LI in all three games so it strikes me as quite odd that the scene didn't trigger in my playthrough. I also got four messages from Kolyat after the memorial service, so the game definitely "recognizes" there war a romance going on.

From what I gathered on the internet, it seems to be a problem related to LIs/romance options rather than a bug of some sort, but as I said...I never romanced anyone else  Sooo...anyone has an idea what happened? I romanced someone else and don't remember about it? Is it possible that certain squadmates believe(d) I am(/was) interested in a romance because I chose certain dialogue options? I mean aside from lines that end up with Shepard in a hot tub with them or arguing about cheating, I'm not that dense...

You've played the game, right? The Citadel DLC does not become available until after the Cerberus coup, which Thane does not survive.

Make sure you rekindled your romance with him, and etc. It could be a bug that he didn't show up, or you may have done something that may have left your romance-less.

Yeah but his spirit or Shepard's memory of him or whatever appears in the final scene.

I'm pretty sure I did, yes. I am referring to (quoted from the wiki, which I am assuming is a pretty reliable source of information):

"The morning after the party while the rest of the crew starts boarding the Normandy, Shepard continues to look out at the ship from the Docking Bay. If Shepard has no other love interest who stops for a final word with her, Thane's spirit walks up to her (...)"

This did not happen in my playthrough, despite Thane being my only LI.

I did, although I'm not sure there's a way to prove it officially since as far as I know you don't get any achievement from his romance. I love wandering around and talking to npcs (I usually go talk to squadmates after every mission, campaigns and side quests alike) so it's very unlikely that I missed some dialogue/cutscene. I suppose it's probably a bug then, I'll see if maybe replaying the whole dlc helps. I just hope when I start my planned insanity run of the whole trilogy I don't come across this issue again. That final scene was awesome and powerful even with Joker alone, but knowing I could have talked to Thane instead spoiled it a bit for me. Romancing him is breaking my heart in more ways than expected I guess

That is... unexpected, but cool.

It sounds like a bug. I only didn't get his ghost the first time because I forgot to do the memorial and after I played it again and did the service and got the vids, he showed up as everyone was leaving. Did you accidentally romance someone before the party and after the service? I know after he dies you get hit on by Kaiden, Traynor and Allers, but I don't recall any hooking up in the DLC if you remained single. You only get James/Javik if you are single through all 3 games.

Tiny correction, you only have to be single in ME3 for these two, it doesn't matter if you previously romanced someone in ME1 or 2 as long as you don't lock in that romance in ME3 :) And with James you have to actively pursue him, Javik can be a trap though, but avoided with a calm party I think.

I didn't romance anyone THAT I AM AWARE OF. I'm saying this because back in me1 both Liara and Kaidan thought that I was interested just because I was nice to them in terms of dialogue options. Kaidan especially - if I recall correctly since this is my first playthrough of the trilogy - was very "platonic" and seemed to interpret anything I did as "oh Shepard must like me". But I rejected them both very clearly so yeah, I'm more and more convinced this whole Thane thing is just an unlucky bug. Maybe as Alfonsedode suggested I'll try editing the save file and see if that fixes it...hopefully I can do it without corrupting anything. Thanks everyone!

Not for me sadly lol I had an issue with Kaiden. He wouldn't let it go and I got locked in even though I refused him in ME3 after romancing him in ME1. I think something was off about that save. I swore to not touch ME1's convos with a ten foot poll after that and remained single in ME2 because I was so annoyed and wound up with Javik. It was hilarious!

Sounds like it. As I mentioned above, I had a bug that forced Kaiden on me in ME3 even though I broke it off and he was convinced we were an item.

Ahaha, oh dear, that doesn't sound too pleasant :D For me dumping Kaidan worked, too bad it didn't work out for you.

It worked on a Gibbed version, but the actual import gave me stalker Kaiden LOL and it's sad because in my complete PT recently with a romanced Thane, Kaiden became a really good friend to Shepard.
