I'd love to see Yavana, Morigan's evil sister, as a potential antagonist, or Sten/ the new Arishok leading a Qunari army against the main protagonist.  Another area they might draw from are the forgotten ones. In the Elven legend surrounding Solas, he was considered both a member of the elven gods and a forgotten race of gods that i believe predate the Old gods who become Arch Demons. So it would be awesome to see him begin his war on Thedas by unveiling a group ridiculously powerful ancient Elven Mages who were once feared by the world.

The problem with using the Forgotten Ones is that their arch would be quite large, and we already have Sloas for the main game, they could work well on an expansion like Awakening thought, as for the other two Sten is heavily unlikely to play as a mandatory enemy since we already got an Arishok as villain, Yavana is not really evil (actually few people on DAverse are really evil) but I wouldn't be surprised if Solas tries to recruit her and other people such like Abelas and Valta.

Solas as a villain is awesome. He is the best kind of villain because he exists in that gray area where right and wrong is blurred. He's a good man, doing the wrong things for what he thinks are the right reasons. He doesn't do it for power or glory, and he knows it's going to make him a monster in everyone's eyes, but it matters enough to him that he will sacrifice all---love, honor, his own life even---to accomplish his mission. I appreciates his reasons, and I can even respect his ruthlessness, even if I wholeheartedly disagree with his methods.

And as the player, if you were his friend or lover, you are conflicted as well. Now you must sacrifice love/friendship, and maybe even your own life, to do what you think is right. I like it. I love that I am torn on what to do. I might have to kill him, but I want that chance to change his mind. That is so much more meaningful, not to mention more difficult to do, than to simply kill him in combat (if that is even possible).

Anyway, the worst kind of villain is one that is so obviously a villain. Like Corypheus. Just look at him. You can write the word EVIL across his forehead and it could not be more any more obvious. From his appearance to the things he says... I was never conflicted on what to do with him. Kill, maim or destroy... those were the only options. Meh... I felt more emotions fighting Calpernia.

If Solas is to be joined by other antagonists... I just hope they are either personable or heroic or honorable even (in their own ways), so that fighting them would be a struggle, not just physically, but emotionally as well. Forced into killing good men for the right reasons...argh...I want that so bad! I hope it breaks my Inquisitor (or whoever the next protagonist is going to be).
