Does it have a key needed to install? If so try putting that into Origin, it may accept it.

If it doesn't get on to EA Support, they might be able to help you activate the key on Origin. All it will cost you is a little time.

 

I have already thought about it because I have already done that with my ME 1 copy, but unfortunately in this case there isn't any key on the box and/or in the manual, just a link to 2K site for online registration. Moreover, my ME1 copy is labeled EA, while this one is ownership of 2K.

 

After so many years I don't even remember if they provided me a key or if it was enough to register on that site and both the PC and the email address that I was using at those times are loooooong way gone. I suppose the only thing I could do is trying to reinstall on my current PC and see what happens, maybe I'll try to ask EA support but I suspect that there is no way to register on Origin a copy of a game that I bought from another company...

The odds aren't in your favour for sure but it is worth asking, especially since EA own Bioware.

 

If you registered your game with 2K before, it might be worth seeing if the key could be stored in your account there.

Maybe there is a chance because in 2k site they are stating that they don't provide any more support for JE and try with EA support.

So, this evening when I'll be back from work I'll try to install it and see what happens.

Worst case is that I won't be able to activate it with neither of them

Would people be interested in having an icon for Jade Empire? Now that Origin is giving it away as part of their "On the House" promotion we can track ownership. However, it would be like Mass Effect 1 where we would only be able to track ownership for the PC version that is available on Origin.

Oh, that explains why I don't have the ME1 icon. I was worried there was a special requirement to unlock it since I've already played the game on 360 and bought the Trilogy.
